"No one has seen Glossaryck in years," Madame Moon said. "Where would we even start looking? I doubt he stayed in Mewni with Eclipsa."
Then she squeaked. "Oh my goodness—what if Eclipsa did something to him?"
"Glossaryck isn't in Mewni," Star told her.
"And how would you know that?" Toffee glared at her, one eyebrow arching up.
Star glanced at everyone before drawing in and releasing a breath. "Trust me. I just...know. I don't know where he is, but I know where he's not."
Marco looked at Toffee and Moon, but they shared the same look of uncertainty.
"Star, how do you think this can help us?"
She frowned and massaged her temples. "I could focus on the places where he isn't, and maybe I could narrow down and find where he is," she said. "It's worth a try." She looked at them again, searching for agreement and confirmation.
Marco was the first to respond. "Okay. What have we got to lose?"
Toffee sighed. "Maybe he's right." He put an arm around Moon. "What do you think?"
Moon scoffed. "I think it's crazy. But... we can try. What do we have to do, Star?"
Star gave a nod before standing up and wiping her face. "I need a piece of cloth or something."
Marco looked around the room before picking up a stray dirty piece of cloth. "Will this do?"
"Yes." Star took it and sat down cross legged on the floor, tying it around her head. "I need quiet."
They nodded and took a step away from her, holding their breaths. Marco sat down in front of her, tapping his fingers on his knees.
"Has she done this before?" Marco hissed to Moon.
Moon looked at Toffee. Toffee offered an uneasy smile and shrugged. "If there was a problem, surely she would tell us, right?"
"She's just using magic," Moon said. "She'll be fine."
Marco turned back around and stared at the blindfolded Star. If she wasn't nervous, then he had enough doubts and worry for the both of them.
"Stop talking..." Star whispered.
Marco sighed and smiled slightly, before willing himself to relax. But it wasn't easy. He didn't want anything to happen to her, and this... experiment... was really testing his limits.
Star breathed deeply, waiting for everyone to settle. She couldn't see anything but darkness —just as she needed to. Her breathing began to settle into a rhythmical pace, and before long, she opened her eyes and gasped at the sudden light.
She shielded her eyes, realising that she was staring into the sun. She shook her head and taking in her surroundings. It was a dry and barren place, but had a few trees growing in patches. A frown formed on her face, eyes darting around the area. Where was she?
She trudged forward, dirt crunching beneath her sneakers. There wasn't much to look at, wherever she was, but in the distance she saw what looked like a castle spire. The feeling that there might be civilisation grew stronger, and she started walking faster.
"Glossaryck," she said, looking around in case he would suddenly appear. The castle grew larger as she then found herself at the front doors. She flinched at the fire that decorated the exterior, but willed herself to knock on the doors.
They opened by themselves, causing Star to gasp softly. She walked inside cautiously.
"...Glossaryck?" Star called out.
