Dominik (POV)
I run forward, slashing at that Fae trickster.Suddenly, white lights appear before my eyes. I dodge, then dashes towards her again from a new direction, pinning her to the ground. I sat on her, then aimed my sword right on her head and stuck in through her.
"huh,not bad Dominik" a voice rings behind me, I turn around. The fae trickster was right there, looking at me from her bench. I stand up from her decoy, then smiles.
"*sigh* you got me again Faela sensei, you are just too strong"
"No no, you're improving, I can tell."
"But it still isnt enough to meet your level, sensei"
"Hey, Dominik, I wanna tell you something."
I sit down beside her in curiosity, Faela sensei has never told me she wanted to tell me something that isnt combat techniques before.
"So...I can see your improvement...and you are now level 10 so..... I have reccommended you to join the shadow clearing group"
I freeze. did she mean....
"Yes, Dominik, congrats, you graduated."
At first, i was so shocked i didnt even know what to say, then happiness started welling in my gut. I sprang up and hugged Faela sensei.
"Oh my god! Sensei! A-are you serious???"
"Haha, why would sensei lie to you?"
"Oh my god I can't believe this! Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!"
"Dont thank me Dominik, thank yourself for your hardwork"
She pets me on the head. Sensei must be really proud as well. "You know, when you join the shadow clearing group... You're going to meet some new people, I'm pretty sure your captain will be Claire. She's a good friend of mine, don't cause her too much trouble, alright?"
"I promise, don't worry about me sensei"
That night, I ran back home. Excitement welling in my stomach. This is it! I finally became a shadow clearer. I looked up at a photo frame hanging in my room.There is a couple, holding their baby, smiling at the camera with the most beautiful smile one could ever see.
"Mom, Dad, I'm now a shadow clearer, just like you once were. Are you proud?"
I ate my dinner in solitude, then went to bed.
