Mike's POV

El had always told me how much she loves the stars. She says it's her favorite thing that she gets to see now that she's out of the lab, now that she's safe.

Well not quite. El is safe, but Hop still insists that we keep her in the cabin for a couple more months. Which sucks, but it's probably what's best. Best for El.

El says it's hard to see the stars from inside the cabin. She can never get the view she wants by looking out the dusty, aged windows. However Hopper does let her go outside every once in a while. As long as she stays close to the cabin.

So I thought I could talk to Hop, and work out a plan to take El outside and take her stargazing. I don't think she's ever gone but I know she'll love it. While staying near the cabin of course.

It's the morning before I'm planning to take El stargazing. However I need Hopper's approval for that so I need to make a phone call.

I dial the police station's number with shaky fingers. I don't know why I'm nervous, it's just Hop. Right? Just Hopper...just the father of the love of my life. No big deal.

After a couple rings someone picks up the phone. "Hi what can I help you with?" the voice asks. I'm assuming it's Flo. "Um, hi. I need to speak to the Chief." I say nervously. My voice slightly wavering.

"I'm sorry hon, he's real busy right now." she says. I doubt that. He always says that just so people will leave him alone. I let out a big sigh. "Maybe try calling later." she tells me. "Okay." I reply plainly, and then the line goes dead.

I know Hopper's not busy. He only says he's busy because he doesn't want to be bothered. That's why I'm going to head down to the station. It's only about a fifteen minute bike ride, it will take me no time. Plus, this is really important.

I finally reached the station, leaning my bike up against the side of the building. I made my way to the door, pulling it open and walking to the front desk. "Hi, can I speak to Chief Jim Hopper?" I ask.

"I'm sorry but he's still busy." she says. "Could you please just check? Tell him it's Mike Wheeler." I ask hopefully. "Okay, fine." she says getting up from her seat. She walks to the door and knocks.

I hear a small, "Come in." and then they're talking. After a few moments I hear, "Wheeler, what do you want?" I can tell Hopper's annoyed, but I need to talk to him. I make my way to the door to his office and I enter, taking a seat in one of the two cushioned chairs.

"Okay, so I came here to ask you a question." I say. He nods his head, signaling me to continue. "Okay, I know that it's not the day I usually come over to the cabin, but I was wondering if I could come tonight. El always talks about how much she loves the stars and I made this whole plan and I just I really need you to let me because I really want to make this happen and—"

"Spit it out, kid." Hopper interrupts. I take a deep breath and ask again. "Could I please come over to the cabin tonight? I want to take El stargazing because she loves the stars, but that would include bringing her outside." I explain.

Hopper let's out a sigh as he says, "I don't know, kid..." hesitantly. "Please? We could could stay near the cabin, where you could see us." I say. After a couple moments of Hopper thinking about this proposition, he agrees and I'm out the door with a rushed, "Thank you!"
