One day, I was out at a small get together with some friends, there was some beer and food. The beer sucks but hey, won't complain about free alcohol right? Anyways, we were all having a good time chatting and a few couples I didn't know were over in their spots making out when suddenly we hear a strange sound outside in the woods.
. . .
We all went dead silent but couldn't hear it again as suddenly the lights went out. A few of the girls screamed and clung to their boyfriends and one of my friends clung to me but I shrugged it off thinking they were scared. I look at her, her name was Jewlian, I've known her for a long time and she's a sweet girl. She looked a little pale from the sudden change of events so I gently rub her head to try and calm her as I feel her grip relax.
Jewlian said, "Sorry, just nervous... I wasn't expecting the lights to suddenly cut out like that."
I told her, "It's not a problem, I figured that was the case. I'm just glad you're feeling calmer." She smiles softly and let's go only to take my hand. Me being the weird, and oblivious, guy I am, hold her hand back. She looks at me with a look of slight curiosity and surprise as to how calm and composed I am.
I just smile softly back at her as I softly say to her, "Would you like me to check everything or stay?"
She gasps softly and tightens her grip on my hand as she quickly says, "No! Please stay here!"
I just smile and nod, "Okay, I'll stay here." I gently rub the back of her hand to reassure her as she slowly calms down.
