After a while the paramedics show up along with the police and I'm transported to a hospital for proper care. Of course, every day I was in the hospital the same person kept checking in on me. Jewlian. Every time she showed up I would pretend to be asleep so I didn't have to talk to her. When they finally released me the cops then interrogated me on what had happened. I had told them the full story and, of course, they didn't believe me and said I was just delusional from blood loss or I was just super drunk. With a sigh I just agree with them and play off what I had told them as some joke, telling them that I probably was super drunk or something and had played with a knife and ended up cutting myself open sloppily. Afterwards I was free to leave and head home which I found strange but didn't want to question it.
Upon arriving home I noticed something, the door wasn't locked like usual and it was slightly ajar and, as any reasonable person should do, I called the police to notify them of the break in. After half an hour the police arrive and check the place only to return empty handed and leave saying the house was clear and safe so I enter my home a bit cautious. Of course, I find Jewlian in the living room asleep on the sofa as I internally groan and walk over, gently waking her up as she tackles me to the floor in a hug.
She whimpered out, "I was s-so worried that y-you m-might not make it b-back... e-everyday I-I went to visit you in the h-hospital y-you were asleep a-and I-I was so worried."
On the contrary, I wasn't asleep and I never heard her whimper an ounce of fear when she visited. In fact, she never said anything at all while she visited. Something doesn't add up and it doesn't feel right but what is it? "Sorry I scared you so much... guess I'm a jerk for making you worry so much. You don't have to stay any longer you know? I'm sure your boyfriend is missing you..." I respond with coldly and I could feel her freeze up but I didn't regret what I had said at all. I realize I seem like a cold bastard but something was off and I wasn't risking her sticking around longer than necessary until I figured out what it was.
She stood up and looked at me, "I'm sorry... he isn't my boyfriend... I just needed comfort because I was worried about you... I'm sorry you took that the wrong way and that I gave off that vibe. Is there anything I could do to make it up to you?"
I internally laugh because I knew every word of what she said was bull and didn't buy a single word of it. "I'd like to be left alone. Go get cozy with someone else because you've already betrayed my feelings, my trust, my drive to survive. When I returned I had planned to stay with you but you decided to go get all snuggly with Daniel, which to me it didn't even seem like you were in need of comfort. You seemed plenty happy and I'm pretty sure I saw you eyeing his dick so don't think I'll buy whatever cheap bullshit you're trying to feed me. We're done Jewlian and if you don't leave me alone I will call the cops and have them come for harassment and breaking and entering upon private property. Now go."
She instantly broke as her soft, sad face turned dark for a split second but she turned around and nodded, "As you wish," was all she said as she left the house and gently shut the door.
