I look and see a few guys had already left to investigate the sound and after about ten minutes they still aren't back, Jewlian starts to get worried.
She looks at me asking, "Do you think they're okay?"
I simply nod but I truly hope they are alright. I look to one of my other friends, Jasmine and her boyfriend David, and see they're trying to keep calm, Jasmine looked a little worse for wear but David was a good guy, trying to keep her calm as he reassures her that everything is okay, but the look he gave me said it all, he was terrified out of his mind and only his eyes showed it. In fact, we all were a bit scared.
. . .
An hour and a half pass as the guys still have yet to return. Jewlian starts to get worried as she looks at me, asking, "Should we go looking for them?"
I think long and hard on this and finally respond, "If something's happened to them we should stay put and be sure that someone's here in case th-" and at that there was a loud scream from outside as Jewlian clings tightly to me, she started crying quietly into my shoulder as I hold her close to comfort her. At that point everyone was a little on edge, a few trying to call the police but there was no cell service.
Jewlian looks at me, teary eyed and red faced, "P-please d-don't leave m-me..."
I gently hold her and wipe the tears from her face as I tell her, "I won't leave you, someone has to keep you safe after all." Yeah... coming from the scrawny kid.
As time goes on everyone becomes more and more tense, fights break out and I step in and break them up because it seems I'm the only one who has logic in this house. A few guys tried to get in my face but I just wave them off and go back to Jewlian as they try and tease me about hiding behind my "girlfriend" but again I just ignore them. Jewlian looks at me, "Are you okay? You look drained...," in truth I was exhausted and wanted to leave but if I left one of two things would happen, either I'd disappear like the other guys or chaos would ensue. Either way both outcomes seem pretty bad, plus I don't want to leave Jewlian here all alone with these people who're clawing for answers.
I just respond with, "I'm fine, just a little aggravated that these idiots can't understand the concept of patience." Of course with that they all get annoyed but they understand I'm right which is surprising. She just nods and takes my hand again and surprisingly moves closer to me, cuddling up against me trying to ease my exhaustion.
I blush slightly and just hold her, she giggles pokes my cheek, "You're blushing~." I just look at her, her face was hot red and just laugh softly as she puffs her cheeks.
"What's so funny?"
I just smile, "Nothing, you're right. I am blushing."
A few hours later I look at her and tell her, "I need to go and check on the guys who left."
She pales but nods, understanding as she said, "Please just be careful," she softly kisses my cheek, "Because when you come back I have something I need to say."
I blush and nod, "I promise I'll come back safe and hear what you have to say." I didn't need her to kiss my cheek, it honestly threw me off and made me want to stay but I knew I had to go so I went to the kitchen.
