Not so simple...

After getting a few extra slices of bologna the two of us headed for the lab, both of our heads swirling with thoughts in the process.

"How can she even make bologna in that size of an apartment... And where the hell does she get the beef from.." Sal looked to me oddly as we entered the small lab, thankfully it was completely empty due to lunch.

"I have no idea... Maybe Larry was right - it might be goats," chuckling a bit I looked to Larry who nodded in immediate agreement.

"Well not that I'm disagreeing but why do you say that," Larry let out a small laugh as he leaned against one of the black topped tables.

"Well turns out Packerton makes the bologna... I have no clue how though... Besides I hardly ever see her," shrugging I set the bag of extra lunch meat down just as Todd appeared lost in thought.

"Usually she tends to return during the later hours of the night - though I just speculate it's due to her working more then one job... She does make a lot of noise however..."

"So should we ask her about this or are you two going to do some more snooping around," smirking a bit Ash turned to us, a smile growing on my face as I looked up to Sal.

"We should probably look around a bit more before going straight to Packerton... Besides - even if something weird is going on it's not like she'd tell us," Sal looked to the group before they all gave us an approving nod before the three of them then turning back around to the new samples.

"Quit staring you're supposed to be keeping watch," laughing a bit I glanced to Sal once more, the tips of his ears turning red as he darted his attention back to the small window on Packerton's door.

"Fine, fine... You get into the desk yet?" sighing softly his blue eyes darted back to me once more before I shook my head.

"Not yet... It's a combination lock so it could pretty much be anything..."

"Damn..."

After trying a few random combinations with no luck I motioned Sal over as I took his place, my eyes darting from the blue haired boy back into the hallway as I kept watch. No sign of anyone.

Sighing once more I turned back to face the same boring class I had been eyeing last period - my eyes lightly scanning over everything before stopping on the thin poster with the full number of pi written out on it.

"Hey babe... Look at that outline..." glancing out into the hallway one more time I walked over to the poster, pointing to the first three numbers which were lightly outlined in fading pencil.

"Shit good eyes Liz... That might be it..."

Just then I heard the small tumblers click into place as he put each number in before it finally snapped open, Sal pulling it out hastily before rifling through the array of math papers she had within.

"Doesn't look like anything useful to me... Wait a second..."

Just as I was about to crouch down and look through myself Sal pulled the entire bottom out from the drawer, revealing much more then useless papers...

Inside lay a small birds skull along with odd spices, a small bible, and small tattered slips of paper with crude symbols drawn onto them, similar to the ones that were carved into Jim's old puzzle box... Or rubix cube.

"What the fuck..." curiously I watched Sal as he picked up one of the many crystals within before he set it down gently, now taking out a small silver piece which actually looked like another piece to the missing box...
