Sal and I glanced to each other as the redhead stood in awe. Hopefully this didn't affect him too much.
"You okay Todd?" Sal finally broke the silence as the two of us stood, the rooms temperature finally starting to warm back up.
"Yeah.. Yeah I'm fine, it's just one thing to suspect that a simple apparatus resides here and another to see a fully conscious one..."
"Yeah we understand, it can be quiet a bit to take in..." I smiled to the redhead as he finally began to calm back down.
"Well what else can I do to help you two out? Obviously there has to be more to it then that..." Todd's expression quickly changed as he began formulating new theories. I glanced at Sal who was eyeing the Gear Boy still, static seemed to linger around the cartridge.
"For now I think we just need to know more about the apartments in general, I've had a weird feeling ever since I moved in," Sal nodded to Todd as he grabbed my hand, slipping the Gear boy into his pocket.
"Of course, I can search around to see what I can find, and as for you two?"
"Well it's getting late... I think we should probably head back up but tomorrow we'll be on the search for some paranormal hotspots," I leaned my head onto Sal's shoulder sleepily as he kissed my forehead.
"Sounds good, my parents usually don't want me leaving the house while they're at work so should we meet here around noon tomorrow?" Todd smiled to the two of us as we all re-entered the colorful living room.
"That works for us, thank's for all your help today Todd,"
"Of course, I'll see you two tomorrow," Todd chuckled as he showed the two of us out, me being half asleep on Sal's shoulder.
For the first time since we moved here I was actually tired at a normal hour without taking any pills.
"Hey baby, you ready for bed," Sal looked down to me and chuckled as we stepped into the elevator - I nodded groggily in response.
"You wanna stay at my place again?"
I nodded once again, my eyelids growing oddly heavy.
(Sal's POV)
I smiled down at the blonde as she dozed off on my shoulder, quietly I picked her up bridal style once again and pressed the glowing button aligned with floor 4.
As I stepped out of the elevator I heard loud shouts coming from Liz's place, at this point it wasn't a surprise as dad and I could hear them fighting through the walls pretty regularly.
Anytime he wanted to go say something to them I told him not to worry about it.
Setting Liz's legs down I felt around in my pockets for the small brass key and unlocked my desolate apartment. As quietly as possible I got the two of us inside and shut the pale door behind us.
After carrying Liz all the way to my room I set her in my bed as she nuzzled herself into my comforter. I smiled contently as I began emptying my pockets, onto my dresser noting the Gear boy still being turned on.
I looked up to see Liz soundly sleeping, and unclasped my mask as silently as possible, sitting down on some of the few boxes I still hadn't unpacked yet. Though it was bearable during the day it was nice to take it off for some time.
I directed my attention back down to the small glowing screen, the only game I could recall being in it was the odd one that set Megan off... House of the Wretched. Though this seemed entirely new.
A new game with the title 'In seeking providence' was displayed across the usual olive screen, sending my mind into spiraling thoughts.
Pressing start I noticed that only two 'chapters' were available, one and three. Drearily I adjusted myself atop the few boxes, preparing myself for what was to come.
