ღChapter 9: Why?ღ

Zane POV

My head..narrowed down at the clean floor.

My shoes, walking upstairs.

We had barely arrived home.

Before I reached the last stair step, I quickly glanced at Garroth, who was sitting on the couch. 

He had dark circles around his eyes and his blonde hair was a birds nest. He was on his phone with a serious look.

I turned away.

I don't think I can ever look at him differently.

I plopped on my bed with my arms spread out

What a day.

What exactly happened today?

1. Aphmau invites me to her party

2. I refuse to make a snow angel with her in the morning

3. I get into an argument with Kawaii~Chan

4. Meet Damien

5. Go to party

6. Witness drama

7. Draw on everyone's faces.

There was probably more, but I just don't want to think of it at the moment.

I heard a faint ambulance sound from a distance,

siigh

I looked at my alarm clock and it was 11:09.

Damn, I really stayed up didn't I?

I slowly shut my eyes..

..

..

..

then..I heard the ambulance again.

"G-GUH!" I yelled as I faced up as quick as light.

What the hell?

What was that?

I quickly got out of my bed and moved the curtains of my window

I faintly saw Aphmau, Katelyn, Aaron, Garroth, and Laurance there.

This is getting strange..I hope nothing bad happened.

Oh what am I THINKING?

OF COURSE SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED

I sprinted down the stairs and almost stumbled across the last steps

I almost fell..but not today clumsy Zane.

I continued to swiftly run outside

The wind was pressing against my cold, stiff face.

It was freezing! Why didn't I quickly bring a jacket?

"ZANE!" Aphmau screamed across the street

She screamed in agony.

I could see tears streaming down her face 

Her hair was swiftly gliding with the wind.

Her bangs were covering her eyes, thus instilling a shadow on her face.

The very description of her mental state broke my heart.

"A-APHMAU!?" I yelled back

She let go of her grasp with Aaron and ran towards me

She surprisingly jumped and gave me a hug.

"A-Aphmau?! What's going on? Why is everyone here!?" I said anxiously

"Z-Zane! It's K-Ka.." she ceased and began to cry

I hugged her back softly.

I drifted my head up and glanced at the scene with the ambulance.

I saw people carrying  a woman in a gurney bed.

I noticed that she had pink hair..

....and I immediately knew who it was.

"Everything's going to be okay, Aph." I said

~Moments Before~

Katelyn POV

As I was drifting into sleep, I heard a loud thud.

"Kawaii~Chan is that you?" I yelled

I carefully walked down the stairs.

It made creaking sounds.

I made my way into the kitchen and saw legs appearing out of the counter.

They were on the floor..

I felt butterflies in my stomach 

And those butterflies caused my heart to sink.

There I saw..the girl who I had an everlasting friendship with.

Laying down the hardwood floor.

With blood gushing through her left forearm.

I let out a painful scream

I dropped to my knees and held her fragile body.

"No...n-no.." I said to myself

"Why..why would you do this?"

"Why do you hurt yourself like this?"

I couldn't waste anymore time.

I had to save my friend

I stood up and sprinted towards the house phone and dialed 9-1-1.

~Short Time Skip~

Shortly after I called, an ambulance came.

Those who heard it were gathered around the street.

Garroth, Laurance, Aphmau, and Aaron all had to witness this horrific event.

Garroth had his hand on his forehead and stood on the sidewalk silently with Laurance putting his hand on his back.

Aphmau dared not to look at the sight of Kawaii~Chan injured and held Aaron's shirt firmly.

I can't confirm that it was Kawaii~Chan who self-harmed herself.

I refused to believe it was her.

But it was the only assumption that was logical at this point.

I wish I could feel what she was feeling

And cure her.
