Zane POV
"Take care of Kawaii~Chan for me" Aphmau said smugly as she exited the cafe.
Take care of her? The hell does this girl mean.
On my left, I could see Kawaii~Chan staring at Aphmau as she continued walking.
She felt her cheeks and her eyes expanded.
Huh..
I sauntered towards her and said, "So, just us huh?"
Her tail stood straight up as if I startled her, "U-Um. Kawaii~Chan guesses so."
We stood next to each other awkwardly. The room was so silent, that you could hear the wind outside bristle the leaves of the nearby trees.
I finally decided to speak, "I'll move the aisles on the far left of the dining area."
As I walked away, Kawaii~Chan grabbed my hand, "W-Wait!"
Bewildered, I faced her to show that I was listening.
"I-"
My eyebrow raised.
"N-nevermind. Kawaii~Chan will handle the rest."
Odd.
I resumed to walk over to the first aisle.
From there, I separated the heavy tables, which took most of my strength away.
I really need to work out more.
From a distance, I saw Kawaii~Chan struggling to move a table. Why would she start with the largest one?
I rolled my eyes and walked over to be of assistance. My intention was to move the table with her, but I accidentally placed my hand on hers.
I panicked and blurted, "S-SORRY!"
She giggled, "No need to apologize Zane~Kun."
She winked and placed my hand next to hers, which made me blush a bit.
Damnit Zane! Control your emotions!
**Short Time Skip brought to you by jess**
After constant table moving, our arms were sore.
I was very exhausted from all the chores. But, it all paid off.
The cafe looked like it just opened. Fresh, clean, and astonishing
Well done Zane.
Both Kawaii~Chan and I accomplished more than all of the workers together which is crazy.
We both stared proudly in satisfaction.
Through the glass windows, the sun was beginning to set.
"We should close the cafe now and head on home." I said in weariness.
"Right!" she responded happily.
We both exited the cafe and stared at the mixed sky. It displayed a gradient of orange and yellow. The very sight reminded me of something...someone.
I glanced at Kawaii~Chan. Her amber eyes were equivalent to the sky...
Aesthetic and beautiful.
Was it weird that they reminded me of my mother's eyes? Even if they were both completely different colors, they both signified something pleasing. Like the magnificent deep aquamarine of our ocean and the fiery skies in Okhasis.
I continued to be in deep thought until Kawaii~Chan spoke, "Kawaii~Chan has always loved the sunset. It always displayed a beautiful splash of vibrant, fiery colors. However, it isn't her favorite sight."
