SIDNEY'S POV

I knew I shouldn't have said those things. But it was for her own good.

"Just tell him. I'm sure he still loves you."

"Yeah that's what she said."

"Please? For me baby?"

I tried to get off the couch to get closer, but couldn't. I was just so sore.

"Promise me you won't get mad at him anymore? He has the right to go to practice." Thank you!

"Not if he is banned for a while by one of his coaches he doesn't!" Dammit!

"Just promise. Please? And if it doesn't work out...I'm always home." Sick.

"Thanks Blake." I watched her hug him. That's so sick.

I pretended to be asleep so when she came in, I'd be passed out.

"Hi." I slowly opened my eyes. "H-hey." She came over and felt my forehead. "You're a bit cooler, but still very warm. Hold on." She still cared.

"What happened? You just left," I asked propping myself up. "Because you yelled at me," she replied. "Look...I didn't mean to, and I'm sorry I got sick, but I'm a hockey player. It's going to happen. When you got hurt, did I care for you? Yeah, I did, Kelsey. Don't get all mad at me for something I didn't mean to do. I love you." She gave me some medicine. "Take it. You are going to tomorrow's game, non-dependent of your status." The medicine tasted horrible, but it made me really sleepy. "No," I yawned, "apology?" She had left the room then.

KELSEY'S POV

"I really hate him right now."

"Awe honey...it's not that bad." Yeah, Vinny, it is.

"Says you. Tell me, when is your first date? That's what I thought."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. I didn't mean it like that. I just meant like it's not like he hates you, does he?"

"He probably does." I put my chin in my hands.

"L-look," he tried to sit up, but I pushed him (carefully) back down. "Don't. Sidney did the same thing. Keep talking."

"Look...it's tough being a hockey player. I'm sure he already told you that, but it is. I know that because...because...I played hockey for 5 seasons when I was younger. I got hurt, I got sick, and yet my mom still loved me. So did Braddy." What's your point?

"And?"

"I'm saying, Sidney probably didn't mean to do whatever it was he did. Yeah, what did he do?"

"He went to practice although he was banned for a few days, then he came home sick."

"Why'd he do that?"

"You tell me! It was specifically requested in writing that 'Sidney needs to stay home for a few days since the flu is going around'. But he didn't."

"You cannot, and should not, get mad at him for that."

"You're right. I'm sorry I ever came to you in the first place."

It was much more than that. Sidney did much more damage than that, but I was too afraid to say anything.

I got home to try and make things right, but he was asleep on the couch. "K-Kelsey?"

Shit. Now what?!

"Hey sleepyhead. Did you have a nice nap?" He nodded. "It was okay. Am I still playing tomorrow?"

I forgot about that.

"No, Sidney, you're not. I'm sorry for saying that earlier. Now, do you really want to sleep on the couch?" He hugged the blanket. "C'mon big guy, you need to go upstairs to sleep. The couch will hurt your back." He wouldn't move. "I don't want to go upstairs," he moaned. "Yes. Yes you do. C'mon." I tried to help him up, but it was no use. He wouldn't move. "Alright. Fine." He was slow to get up. "But if I collapse on the stairs, it's your fault."

SIDNEY'S POV

"Hello?"

"Hey uh I heard man. Sorry for getting you sick."

"Nah. It's fine. I'll be back by tomorrow." Hopefully.

"Okay. Well...feel better bro."

"Thanks Khris."

I woke up to the sound of a buzzer. "The hell?!" I saw a bunch of my teammates.

"Oh I turned on the game. You were asleep for a day and a half so I turned on the game." I wasn't sure of what was going on.

"W-why am I not there," I asked, a bit confused.

"You were transported into the hospital yesterday, and you were brought home today." Huh?

"O-oh ok. W-what's the score?" She looked down at her phone.

"Hmm? Oh um 2-1 San Jose." Shit.

"I should be there. I'm fine really I am." I got up, got in my car, and drove down to the arena.

My main plan was to play and not get caught...but the coach'll most likely catch my ass and suspend me fot a few games. Most likely three.

"SIDNEY, WAIT!" Nope. The puck is in my control now and I'm gonna fastbreak you all the way downtown, honey.
