When I woke up there was no one there; no one that I could see really.

"Sidney?!"

"What?! Ow!"

"Oh sorry. How's your back?"

"Okay. How are you holding up?"

"Fine. I'm more worried about your back than my job," I noted.

"Yeah, thanks for that. Please can we forget about my back for once? I mean it still hurts and whatnot but I want to make sure you're getting the dough." What's that supposed to mean?

"See? We're getting somewhere! You care about me and I care about you! What do you say? Re-propose to me and get them wedding bells ringing?" He smiled.

"Sure."

"Good. How do you feel?"

"My back feels like a huge cinderblock just weighing down my back and it sucks."

"Oh Sid. It's alright."

"What if something were to happen and I could never play hockey again?" Are you being serious?!

"Sidney Patrick Crosby, do not say that. Ever again. You are like amazing at hockey and don't let a minor, well maybe medium injury determine your status for the rest of your life."

"Yeah but, like, what if I go to a doctor who tells me I can never play again?"

"Well then you just won't go see that doctor. You'll go see the team doctor you lazy-ass."

"I don't wanna. I just want to lay here forever."

"You do that then. It'll only make your back worse." I handed him a pillow. "Here. It's soft and comfy so lay on it instead of the couch cushions."

"Thanks." I watched him adjust and then get really comfy.

"Don't get too comfy," I joked, "you're gonna have to go back to your own bed soon, baby."

"I know that. I just don't like pain. Or back pain for that matter." I smiled.

"Go to sleep. I'll give you some medicine, but please don't complain if the medicine tastes like shit. All medicine does." I looked into his eyes to see a five year-old staring back at me.

"Okay." Within a few minutes, he downed it and passed out.

I managed to go back to New York to get a few things and ended up sleeping on the floor of my apartment since I had to move out, or did I?

'RING!' 'RING!'

"Hello," I asked.

"Hi. Um where are you?"

"New York. I had to get some stuff from my apartment."

"Question."

"Answer."

"Are you going to stay in New York?"

"Me? Um...I don't know."

"Well...you decide on that one, and I'll just either propose to you here or there. It's up to you."

"No...it's really not because proposals are supposed to be a suprise." I was packing a few boxes.

"Yeah...but you kinda already know about it."

"So...?"

"So, you pick a place and time." Smooth, Sidney.

"After your back feels better. Did the medicine work?"

"Yeah...sort of."

"I'm on my way home." The word 'home' made me shudder at the thought.

"Okay. Bye."

'CLICK!'
