I glanced at Taylor who was trying to process what I had just asked as Sidney got into the car.
"I got kicked out. You were saying?" He what?!
"Sidney Patrick, that is not okay! I'm going in there myself." I got out, turned off the car, and stormed in there to see a little kids hockey game going on. I walked out in defeat. "Nevermind that," I muttered.
"I don't know. I guess I'd like an older sister...but I don't know." She rested her head in her hands.
I could tell she was kind of on the fence about this wedding. I am too. I'm scared to see my mom's reaction. She's probably going to hate me for wanting it in Novia Scotia, but oh well, mom, oh well.
"Well we won't talk about it for a while... I promise you can be apart of the wedding." Sidney smiled.
"Promise?" Taylor looked up, smiling.
"Promise," We said together.
We went home where Sidney went back to bed and it was just me and Taylor and her parents.
"Well... what are we gonna do today?" I shurgged as a very tired Sidney trudged down the stairs.
"I need to hit a rink...mom, is Harbor's open?" She shrugged.
"I don 't know. Look it up. Or use the basement. You should show Kelsey the basement and the ever-so-famous washer/dryer. I'm going to the store, you kids want anything?" We shook our heads. "I'm leaving." She kissed Sidney and then Taylor before leaving.
"Sid, you look terrible," Taylor commented.
"I know. I'm really tired...anyways... I was thinking about going to Harbor's Hockey House. But first, Kelsey, follow me." He go up slowly and I followed him to the basement.
"You alright?" I asked.
"Like I said, tired. Very tired." We went down into the basement and I got to see where he perfected his game.
"Plese tell me, you never got busted for the washer/dryer?" I asked, walking over and looking at it.
"Yeah... after the first few times, my parents got used to it." He got out his stick and a few pucks and started making a few slapshots.
Being in Novia Scotia really made me think of ESPN...ESPN. Oh shit. I never told Scott I was leaving.
"I need to make a phone call." I grabbed my phone and dialed Scott's number.
"Hello? It's Saturday morning. What on earth-? Oh Kelsey...you need to come in today." His voice was groggy and muffled.
"I-I do? Okay. I'll get on the next flight." I hung up and quickly went upstairs to go pack.
"Hey you alright?" I stopped as I was folding my Penguins sweatshirt.
"Yeah...I have to go in for work...Scott didn't know I was leaving." I sat on the floor.
"Oh...I'm sorry." He came over and hugged me tightly, kissing the top of my head.
"Don't be. I'm leaving." I got up and grabbed my stuff.
"Well, I'm going with you, then." He stood against the door.
"No, you're not. You need to stay here so you can get better-I mean your back can get better," I pointed out.
"Oh c'mon now, you know you want me to come to New York with you!" He whined.
"No! You're...." My voice trailed off when I thought about the first time he came to New York with me. "What about Taylor?" I shot.
"Forget about her. It's just you and me." He came over and wrapped his arms around me, me resting my head against his shoulder. I'm pretty sure I could hear Taylor almost crying.
"So are you coming or what?" I smiled.
"Yeah. And you're cool with me coming along?" He asked.
"I've changed my mind. So what? Oh and you might want to go check on Taylor...."
"Why? Oh because of what I said? I'll be right back." I felt bad for Taylor, but I was missing work, so she and Sindey can kiss my ass.
SIDNEY'S POV
"Hey, were you crying?" I found Taylor looking at a few medals in her bedroom before she faced me.
"No. Forget about me." She turned around to continue looking at her medals.
"Oh, you actually heard that? I didn't mean it. I promise." I tried to hug her but, she denied my access.
There was always something about our relationship that I never had to question. It was if something went wrong. we always had each other's backs.
"Why do you have to leave? You just got here!" She was by now, crying.
"Hey, hey, hey. Don't cry. Please. I'm not going anywhere. Just stop crying, okay? How's your head?" She shrugged.
"But, you even said so yourself, 'forget about her! It's just you and me.' I mean, you can't put your girlfriend over me, can you?" She looked up at me.
We're not much taller than each other, but I'm still the older one and the taller (by a few inches and possibly feet) one.
"No. I would never. When we get married, I'm going to probably move in here for a few months." She smiled before Kelsey knocked.
"Can I come in? Nevermind. Sidney, I have to go. You don't have to. And I'm sure you wouldn't want to forget about Taylor." She sounded a bit pissed off.
"I'M HOME FROM THE STORE! HOW ABOUT WE MAKE STEAK FOR DINNER?! HELLO?! SIDNEY? TAYLOR?" I could hear footsteps and assumed it was my mom, but no assumpitons can be made. "Alright, what's going on? No one seems to be talking here. Okay, everyone into the kitchen." I reluctantly followed my mom into the kitchen with Kelsey and her stuff, and Taylor.
I was not ready to explain anything except for the fact that I did absolutely nothing. And that's a partial lie. I did kind of contribute to the tears and pissed off people.
"I'm really sorry but, I have to go back to the states for work. It was really nice meeting you..." She was confused and I didn't blame her.
"Trina. Please call me Trina." My mom offered her hand.
"Okay then, Trina. I'll call you later, Sidney." I walked her out to my car.
"I'm your chauffer to the airport sweetie." She rolled her eyes, smiling.
"Look, I'm sorry for casuing this 'family meeting'. I knew remarrying wasn't a good idea. I'm sorry. Please just take me to the airport and call our relationship quits."
