I'm not really sure on how to deal with all of this...I cut my hand off once, I'm not willing to do it again.

"Please. Anything," I pleaded.

"I'm sorry Miss Dixon, but you've caused enough trouble here at ESPN. I'm going to have to ask you to leave."

I walked out of there crying.

Why me?! Why now?!

***

I walked into the house crying.

"I-I got f-fired."

"Hey it's okay," he started rubbing my back. I buried my face into his shoulder.

"No it's not! I walked in there and they were all like 'you're done'. I-I don't know what to do anymore, Sidney! I cut my hand off once, I'm not doing it again." He kissed the top of my head as if that meant something.

"I love you. Don't let that get to your head alright? I'm leaving. I've got a game to play. You coming?" I shook my head.

"No thanks...I'm gonna watch it here. I kinda new to be alone right now.

Plus, I'm really tired and the last thing I want to hear are screaming fans. Sorry but, the noise level will give me a headache." He kissed the top of my head.

"No worries. Don't wait up for me. I have a feeling the game will last for a while since it's the Sabres."

SIDNEY'S POV

I walked into the house a little after 2 am after a win over Buffalo.

"Hi," I yawned, "what are you still doing up?"

"Waiting for you to come home. You got slammed into the boards pretty hard baby."

"I know that," I yawned again.

Dammit I'm so tired!

My back started to hurt after the huge slam, but I kept playing. Now it hurts even more. I laid on the couch to avoid the pain, but the pain was still there. It felt like a huge cinderblock was weighing down my back.

"You played a freakishly awesome game baby. What's wrong?" She kissed me.

"It's my back."

"What's wrong?"

"It just hurts." She started rubbing it, which made it a little better, but not much.

"What you do need is to get to bed. You played hard, you played dirty, and now you need to go to bed. I have to go to New York to fix all of this whole ESPN mess."

"Why now? And at 2 am?! Keep going."

"Not now. Tomorrow. Early in the morning. And I wasn't gonna stop. I'm trying to make you feel better."

"I don't have practice tomorrow."

"Exactly. You should probably sleep some more. You keep on yawning and it's annoying." I smiled which was followed by a yawn.

"Well then it's contagious. You should sleep too." I slowly got up and made my way upstairs.

***

I slowly fell asleep as Kelsey came in and laid next to me.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I sat up, which was a bad idea.

"I-I got a letter." Wow. ESPN wasn't making this any easier than it needed to be.

"It's okay. Trust me, it's going to be okay." I kissed the top of her head.

"Then why did I get a letter?!"

"I don't have answers. Go back to sleep. Screw New York. We'll figure it out."

KELSEY'S POV

I woke up at 6:30 with Sidney's arms around me.

"Please get off of me. I have a flight to catch in a half hour."

"No," a sleepy voice answered.

"Go back to sleep." I kissed him.

"My back still hurts."

"Hmm...alright...go lay down on the couch."

"But I'm so warm and comfortable!"

"Quit being a baby. I'm sorry I'm being a bitch. I'm just mad that I got fired. Probably Scott's idea anyways," I muttered. "Plus, I'll give you a blanket." He hugged the blankets close to him. "You are such a 5 year-old! Look...I'm leaving now...so I'll see you later." I kissed the top of his head before leaving.

***

I wanted my job back. Besides, who gets fired from ESPN just as soon as they get hired?! I mean really?! Well I know one person, me.

Scott was understanding. Somewhat understanding....

"But why?!" I questioned.

"I'm sorry. We sent you a letter, Kelsey. There's nothing else we can do."

"O-okay. T-thank you," I said without another word. What was I going to tell Sidney?

***

"Hello?"

I'll just tell him. I just let it roll off of my tounge.

"In here on the couch!" He was sitting kind of upright but not really. "Hey, what's wrong?" I was now sitting next to him about to cry. "Please don't cry." I'm trying, Sidney. But I can't. They won't let me take my job back.

"I-I'll t-try not to. But there's nothing they can do! I just can't do it anymore!"

"Oh no. That is not true. You are amazing at what you do," He started tracing circles on my back, "what's wrong? You know you can talk to me."

"I'm sorry okay?! I've been the worst girlfriend to you ever and I'm sorry! I'm being the biggest bitch about you getting hurt and sick and re-marrying me and I'm sorry! I just can't go on like this!"

"I love you to the earth and back." He kissed the top of my head before I laid it in his lap and fell asleep.
