I can't go on this way
I'll never know how
Bright hearts can fade

Viktor stumbled through the rain pelting the front of his body. Letting it run down his face and get into his eyes; mix with tears and heartbreak. He was soaked to the bone, sobs wracking his body as he stumbled down the sidewalk.

And I'd go colder at the thought
Of turning out these lights
At the thought of breathing in
The darkness of the night

He wanted it to end; now more than ever. His love was gone; walked away from him so willingly into the arms of another. So what did he have to live for?

"Viktor! Wait, please!" He heard his voice and his chest tightened up. He felt sick to his stomach like the butterflies that used to live there all came angrily swarming back.

He just kept walking, arms folded over his chest in an attempt to shield himself against the rain. He jerked his shoulder forward as he felt a hand there,
"Go away, Renaud!" He sobbed, his voice becoming higher pitched as fresh tears spilled over his cheeks.
"Please, it was a misunderstanding!"

Viktor stopped in his tracks, shivering.
"Please, I tried to tell her to go away but she wouldn't. Then when you walked in, she kissed me!" He noted the audible tremble in his voice, deciding to turn around and stare right through him with blood-shot eyes.

I can't go on this way
Another lover
Lost in head space

"How can I know that you're telling me the truth, Renaud. I-" his words got caught in his throat as another sob rose. He let his head fall into his hands, sobbing. He let the taller man hug him, feeling comfortable in his arms but he couldn't shake the feeling of distrust.

And I can't breathe
Above the surface
I can't sleep
I know it's worth it

"I know you don't trust me. Hell, you don't want anything to do with me right now. But please, I can make it up to you," The older one of the two whispered into Viktor's hair, feeling his soft breath blow past his ears. This was good. This was how it used to be. He was almost tempted to let him have another chance.

"If I let you have another chance," Renaud's eyes lit up even if just for a second, "then how will I know that I can trust you?"

"You just have to trust me, Viktor,"

"How do I know that you'll be there for me? Because you-you weren't a second ago!"
