Georgia's green eyes glared into the dark at the two figures shrouded ahead. She stiffened, feeling Germany lace his fingers with hers. A bright glimpse of silver shined in his other hand, the reflection of light on a pistol.
Georgia bit her lip. She desperately needed to think. D.C was so close... Only a few more miles left. Georgia had believed that a car was too massive for the final miles and too easy to detect. The enemy was a mystery. How can you fight what you know nothin of?
"Georgia..."
Georgia's gaze limply traveled to Germany's face, which was twisted with concern. He nodded towards the duo ahead. "They give me a bad feeling... We should avoid them."
Georgia chuckled darkly, lips curling into a bittersweet smile. "Not everything can be avoided, Hun." she scolded gently. She squeezed Germany's hand reassuringly. " And there's no need to avoid them. Be ready to apprehend them. "
Germany raised an eyebrow. "Apprehend? They are criminals?" he questioned sternly. He watched Georgia inhale sharply and withdraw her rifle from her back.
"I don't know what they are. " she answered, voice slightly shaky. In an instant, her rifle was aimed into the distance and she rammed back the trigger. Germany blinked, unsure whether to shoot or not.
Birds fled from the trees in the surrounding area, bolting away from the sound of a gun and the smell of gunpowder.
Georgia held her bleeding arm, breathing heavily. Spoken through her teeth. "Ya'll are going to burn in hell..."
Head hung down, shoulders hunched, New York braced her lower back against the wall, gaze captured by a polished floor. She stared blindly as black boots soon filled the space in front of her, a taunting smile on their owner's face.
"You don't look to well, Bella..." Lovino whispered as he kneeled beside her, lifting her head so she looked into his eyes. "To be more precise, you look like shit. " He smiled genuinely. "What happened to all that life? Fratellino quickly rid you of it. What are you planning? What are you thinking? Come on, principessa, you know I want to hear. "
At the word 'principessa', New York instinctively shifted and spat in the older 2p's face. Lovino snorted, quickly wiping the spit off his face. "Arrogant little... Let me stop..." he breathed, flicking her forehead. His lips dwindled in from of hers for a few minutes before he pulled away.
He grabbed her hair. "Fratellino likes you more than me. I don't especially care for your attitude... But you're interesting. You need new clothes, too... And a bath. Unfortunately, there's no time for that. Get up and I'll free you... We need to leave now. "
New York grimaced, lifting herself and roughly shoving Lovino away. He licked his lips. "Feisty."
"Shut up!" New York hissed, extending her arms for him to remove the chains. Lovino was slow to act, brushing her fingers against her skin as he removed the chains. He motioned for her to follow, a smile on his face.
New York walked behind him casually, carefully hiding the small length of chain she had managed to bring. A small, weary smile decorated her features as she listened to Lovino talk.
"And I'll fix your hair. " he continued enthusiastically. " It's become longer. It gets in the way of your work right? That's why you keep it short. I'll cut it for you..."
New York's hands slowly extended with the chain. In the blink of an eye, she curled the chain around Lovino's neck, pulling him to the ground. She clenched the metal, suffocating him quickly. Her heart skipped a beat a she dashed away from his unmoving figure. He was a state, human as he looked. Like her, he'd come back from a death in no time. And when he woke up... The threat would be double again.
