ONCE NICOLE GOT home Friday night after the dinner with her parents there was furniture at their door. Along with some of their suitcases. Everyone grabbed something and brought it inside. Lance helped Nic put her bed together so she could have a good night's sleep for her oncoming first day at the new school. None of her bedding came with the bunches of packages, but a suitcase of hers filled with heavy winter clothes came, so that's what she wore to bed. Mountains and mountains of clothes on her and even some laying on top of her like blankets.

Now the weekend was over like it didn't even happen it was so quick. It consisted of the Everette family putting together furniture, fixing up the house, and exploring the town. Every time it came time for dinner the family would go out for dinner and try out a new restaurant in town. Nic would try and stay home, but her parents would make her come along, she guessed to try and make up for all the family time they have missed out on.

It was Monday currently and Nic woke herself up early in the morning to get ready for the big day. She dressed more stylish than usual because she was anticipating the looks from everyone. It happened every time she would move to a new town. People loved new things.

"Hey, where's my car?" Nic looked out the back door where the driveway met the two-car garage. Out on the cobblestones were just her parents' cars, but she didn't see hers. Thinking of it she didn't know where her keys were.

"Oh, speaking of that," Her father let down the newspaper he was reading and looked up at her from the kitchen peninsula. "Your mother and I thought it would be a good idea to get you a car that would be better for this snowy weather."

"Please tell me you didn't get me a truck." Flashbacks of driving around in her friend's pickup and almost killing them both popped into mind.

"No, we got you a new Audi, a late Christmas gift." Lance held up the key to her new car. Attached was her usual lanyard of keys and keychains. Most of the rings were filled with trinkets from each of the towns she's been to. She would need one from Forks now.

"Thank you." She said low and he nodded at her, giving the keys away.

"The car is in the garage, and if you triple-click the lock button it'll warm it up for you."

Nic tried it out and she heard a slight purring come from the garage. Thinking of the cold outside a chill went down her spine. She grabbed at her coat and pulled it closer to herself. She couldn't wait until it was spring around here and to get some needed sunlight.

With the car in the garage warming up, Nic grabbed her book bag and lunchbox. She quickly checked over to make sure she had everything and once satisfied she said goodbye to her father and left. Outside was colder than the time they went to Germany in December. Flurries of snow floated down from the sky and stuck to the ground. Nic quickened her pace.
