"SO HOW WAS English with Mr. Mason?" Delilah asked once the first period was over. She was right outside the doors waiting for Nic to be finished. "Ready for Trig?"

"English could have been better," Nic trailed off as one of the girls that were gossiping about her during class passed by her. She was the one that called her a bitch and that she kissed her parents' feet.

"Well, get ready for Trigonometry, really fun if you ask me." Delilah laughed sarcastically and tugged on Nic's sleeve for her to follow her. Nic complied and followed her to her next class.

"It's not that bad if you understand the rules." Students hung around the lockers on either side of the hall and talked to each other. Little groups of friends laughed at each other jokes.

"If you thought Mr. Mason talked off your head just wait until Mr. Varner and how incredibly boring he is. It's surprising that I haven't failed out yet." A darker-haired girl with glasses came up to Delilah and started to talk to her about the newspaper. The pair stopped over to the side of the hall, so they wouldn't block the path.

A dark-haired guy walked up to Nic with a bright smile on his face. She smiled back at him to be polite, but he continued moving towards her.

"You're Nicole Everette, right? I'm Eric, the eyes and ears of this place," He gave her a smile as he played with a notepad in his hand, "and I see you have Delilah showing you around."

Delilah continued to talk to the girl with the glasses, obviously friends with each other. A pang went through her heart that Delilah had other friends, but she quickly scolded herself. Nic just showed up to Forks a few days ago and Delilah has probably lived here her whole life. Why am I so easily jealous? I want to be alone, but once someone takes an interest, Nic tutted herself for her thoughts. Eric beside her continued to rattle her ear off.

"Yeah, she's showing me around until I get my bearings." She replied.

"It's not that hard once you get the hang of it," He smiled again before trailing off. "Anyway, I wanted to ask you if you would let me do a news article on you, I'm on the paper and you're front page, baby."

"Uh, I don't think I would be comfortable with that, actually. I-uh got to go anyway. Maybe see you around sometime." Nic stubbled her way out of the conversation and away from Eric. She made her way over to Delilah. She couldn't be front-page news, she would be even bigger news than she already was. Nic just wanted to become that invisible girl when everyone would lose interest in her after the first week.

"Delilah, can we go to my next class now?" Nic looked over her shoulder towards Eric and he stood there aghast.

"Yeah in a minute-"
