JASPER WALKED IN front of everyone and towards the door once the bell had rung. Nic quickly jammed everything into her bag and got up from her seat. She wanted to thank him for picking up her pen, but mostly it was an excuse to talk to him again. She was too nervous the whole time during history to start a conversation after her parents had left her over a text. Once the bell rung it sparked something inside of Nic and an inner thought whispered to her, "Talk to him."

He was out the door by the time she had pushed in her chair. Nic huffed and shrugged her book bag higher onto her shoulder. She took her time to get to the door where she knew Delilah would be there waiting for her. Her emotions were all over the place and she didn't know what to do with them. She was angry with her parents, nervous from Jasper, but also excited in a way to talk to Jasper. She just rolled her eyes and did a mental note to think of it later, or maybe even bring it up to her new friend.

"So, ready for lunch?" The thought of Delilah must have summoned her. Delilah asked Nic with a smile on her face as she leaned against the doorway. A giddiness came off her in waves.

"Yeah, I could use some time away from learning," Nic thought back on her feelings and how she didn't want to learn any more until she sorted everything out. "Where is the cafeteria?"

"Don't worry, I'll show you it." Delilah started walking down the hall towards where a lot of noise was coming from. "Also, I sit with some friends during lunch. You can sit with us, but watch out for Jessica I don't think you will like her much."

"Why is that?" Nic asked.

Delilah made a face before turning away from her. "Well, we'll just see if you like her or not."

Nic didn't reply and followed behind Delilah. They made it to the loud room which turned out to be the cafeteria. It seemed as if the whole school was eating and talking to their friends. It sure looked like it from where Nic and Delilah stood at the entrance. Circles and circles of tables filled with high schoolers.

Delilah brought Nic over to a table filled with people, a mix between girls and boys. The friend Delilah was talking to this morning sat at the table, along with the Asian guy Nic fled from.

Nic bumped Delilah in the side with her elbow, "You didn't tell me the guy I ran from this morning was your friend."

"Oh, Eric? I didn't know that's who you fled from," Delilah sat down in between the girl with the glasses from this morning in the hall and a girl in pink with a headband. Delilah started to talk to the glasses girl and let Nic choose where to sit at the table. Nic looked over at Delilah and Delilah quickly gave her a 'sorry' with a smile.
