Chapter 28 ~ Unexpected

Yuju's POV

During that next week, all I did was sleep, eat, drink water, and hangout with the boys. One night I binge watched a Korean drama with Jeonghan, and we stayed up till five in the morning and we saw the sun rise. We laughed and then we went back to sleep. That "night" I woke up at two pm, and Jeonghan and I never said a word about our movie marathon.

Jun and I went out on a date — to a mall, where we went shopping and got to know each other a little better. I really didn't want that day or this week to end. It was really fun. And of course, another couple began to form.

Minghao's POV

On the last day of our break before meeting up with TWICE for practice again, I was practicing my dance when my phone rang. I ran across the practice room to stop the ringing to pick up the phone. It was Mina.

The two of us got really close during the collaboration. We talked every spare second we had with each other and got to know each other better. Although she looks quiet, she's really good at giving advice. And of course, she's really pretty, so I do have some feelings for her.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hi Ming ming!" Mina said cheerfully. "Do you want to go hangout today?"

"Where?" I asked.

"Do you maybe just want to go to the mall and go shopping?" Mina suggested.

"Okay Mina-ring," I smiled. "I'll come pick you up at your dorm."

"Yay!" Mina cheered.

I picked up my black hoodie that I'd thrown onto the bench, and I pulled it over my white t-shirt. Checking to make sure I didn't leave anything behind, I picked up my gray iPhone X and slid it into the pocket of my black ripped jeans. With my wallet and car keys in the other pocket, I jogged over to my car and fired up the engine.

Ten minutes later, I arrived at TWICE's dorm. Mina had a black face mask over her pale face and pink-tinted lips. Her brownish, blackish shoulder length hair fell in soft waves.

"Hi Mina," I smiled.

"Hi Ming Ming," Mina smiled back, sliding into the seat next to me.

"Do you want to go to Starbucks once we arrive?" I asked.

"Okay, sure!" Mina grinned.

We spent the rest of the twenty minute car ride talking about what had been going on in our dorms for the past few days. Mina told me about how Jeongyeon was busy trying new recipes, and I told her about how Hoshi, Seungkwan, and DK (a/n: ayyyyy booseoksoon) had a fire noodle eating challenge yesterday, leaving Seungkwan sick in bed today.

"We're here!" Mina exclaimed, her eyes sparkling.

"Let's head inside then," I smiled.

"Wait Ming Ming," Mina stopped me. "You should wear a face mask so no one recognizes you."

She pulled out a black fabric face mask, which covered my nose and mouth. With her gentle fingers, she pulled the mask over my ears and I began to blush. Thankfully, the mask covered up the redness on my cheeks.

We walked over to the Starbucks, and Mina entwined her fingers with mine. I smiled at her as we ordered and then sat down in the comfy armchairs. As our drinks arrived, we began to talk the day away. (welp that sounded weird)

Yuju's POV (this is on their date btw)

"Junnie," I whined. "I'm thirsty."

"Awww, so cute," Jun pinched my cheeks. "Let's go to Starbucks."

We walked hand in hand to Starbucks. After we finished ordering, I picked up the cardboard holders and handed one to Jun. He turned around and froze.

"Uh, Jun, are you okay?" I asked, waving my hand at his face.

"There," Jun replied, pointing somewhere behind me.

I turned around and my jaw dropped.

It was Minghao...and Mina?

"Excuse me, miss?"

I whipped back around and the Starbucks salesperson smiled at me.

"Your drinks are ready."

"Oh," I smiled. "Thank you!"

"What on earth are they doing here?" Jun asked as we looked for a place to sit.

"Are they dating or something?" I whispered.

"I don't think so," Jun shook his head. "Minghao would've said something."

"Well clearly, love is in the air," I smirked.

"Let's go surprise them," Jun giggled.

We quietly tiptoed over to our two friends, who had each taken a pause to sip on their coffees. I gave Jun a thumbs up and he jumped behind Minghao.

"YAH!" Minghao yelped. He turned around to Jun and I, who each were wearing a smile of sheer guilt. Mina just burst out laughing.

"Hehe," I giggled.

"Jun! Yuju!" Mina scolded us playfully, attempting to contain her laughter. "That wasn't very kind."

"Hehe Mina unnie," I smiled. "Stop pretending that you weren't laughing just a few seconds ago."

"Guilty as charged," Mina grinned.

"Okay now that that's over," Jun said. "Why exactly are the two of you here? I mean, it's not like I don't enjoy your presence, because then I wouldn't have been able to prank Minghao, but are you two dating or something?"

"We're just hanging out," Minghao replied innocently.

"Sure," I said sarcastically, earning a playful hit from Minghao.

"Well we don't want to interrupt your date," Jun said. "So we'll leave you two lovebirds here alone. Come on Yuju!"

"JUN!" Minghao yelled as the two of us sprinted away from the Starbucks, our coffees in our hands.

"Let's go home now," I smiled as we stopped running, catching our breath. "It's getting late, and we have to go meet TWICE tomorrow."

"Good point," Jun agreed.

We arrived to the dorm and were greeted by the wonderful smell of samgyetang. (Korean chicken soup).

"Oooh, Mingyu oppa," I smiled. "Is that samgyetang you're making?"

"Mhmm," Mingyu smiled. "And it's ready! GUYS THE FOOD IS READY!"

Instantly, the boys ran out of their rooms, taking a bowl of soup with them. Their scattered "thank you"s could barely be heard amongst the chaos, and ten seconds later, only three bowls of soup remained.

"Thanks Mingyu," I smiled. "I'm going to my room now."

"Your welcome Yuju."

I took a hot, steaming bowl of soup and I placed it on the desk on my room. I sipped the soup slowly, thinking about tomorrow and what was to come.
