With fast flapping of his wings, Haemir lands in the place compound; from the balcony of the royal hall, Aranor stood and watched as they arrived.
Chase slides down from his back and Haemir changes into his human form and looks up to the balcony; Aranor nods and Haemir nods in response.
“We have to go now” Haemir said and they both walk into the palace with maids and guards stopping to greet them, all of which Haemir responded with a gesture, nod or with a smile. “I will advise you Chase, King Aranor can be a pain in the neck and he can be a nice friend, depends on the impression you set.”
“So it’s possible for him to hate or like me”
“Yes, I beg you; do not give him a reason to hate you”
Huge golden doors open revealing the throne room; Chase has seen the throne room at Sivseria and this throne room beat that of the Sivs by a mile.
The King, Aranor Drengrith, stood with a plump red haired man, they were talking; they stopped when Chase and Haemir entered.
“At last, my dear Haemir is back”
Haemir bowed slightly with a smile.
“How was the journey? I hope the Sivserian King was good?” The King asked as he took his seat on the throne
“I did well, although he did not release the medallion, he gave us the boy”
“Why? We need that medallion, not some peasant boy” Eldrin lamented
“I am not a peasant” Chase said annoyed, The King and Eldrin gave him a look that silenced him.
“He is not a peasant, in fact, he is the reason we might win this war” Haemir said in defense.
“And how will a child like this help us in this war?” Aranor asked stroking his beard.
“He is the son of Korvac Drengriel” Haemir broke the news
“Preposterous, it is impossible…and you believe this fraud, Haemir” Eldrin complained
“He is, and I saw proof” Haemir defended
“And what is that?” Aranor asked in curiosity
“I read his mind, and he spoke in the tongue of Aeons”
“He could fake it” Eldrin said
“Fake it? How can someone fake a language older than even drengrins and lost for thousands of years?” Haemir asked in annoyance
“Fine, I believe you, but how is he going to help us?” Aranor asked
“He killed two Screechers on his own”
“What?! Screechers? How come? Where?” Eldrin and the King asked almost the same questions at the same time.
“On our way back we were attacked by three screechers, I was busy facing one, he was busy killing two”
“Do you have any form of training? Boy” Aranor asked Chase
“No, I have never punched someone or even held a weapon…well, except a kitchen knife, a bat and a sword Lord Haemir gave me” Chase answered.
The King nodded, “I can smell the blood on your arm from here, Eldrin, get our guest to a healer, preferably, the head mage”
“Yes, my King” Eldrin said and led Chase out of the room, down the hallway and towards another wing of the castle.

With a thud, Ralnor dropped Faldrus in front of the palace before he then landed gracefully.
“You did that on purpose” he said as he stood, dusting his clothes.
Ralnor didn’t even answer as he walked ahead, “Come on, it is rude to keep the King waiting”, Faldrus quickly tagged along.

After explaining the attack to the King and the council in the palace, the King commanded the Generals to join forces with the mages and fortify the Kingdom’s defenses. He then told the lords of court to send message out to other kingdoms about the situation and commanded a general to lead a rescue mission to accept any survivor that they find and bring them into the kingdom.
“The Aconite barrier and enchantments will prevent evil from entering the kingdom, so we have nothing to fear about bringing in the wrong person”, the head mage assured and everyone went to work.
Both standing at the balcony, overlooking the kingdom, “I can’t thank you enough, brother”, the King thanked Ralnor
“Just make sure the survivor I brought is taken care of, and you can consider your debt paid in full, besides that is what the ‘Brotherhood of Elders’ is”, he said with a smile and jumped down from the balcony, spurted wings and took off, heading for the midlands.
