"Bianca, what day is it?" Bianca stopped reading to looked over at Ethan who was play video games with Luke.
"Check yourself." Bianca rolled her eyes. She then averted her eyes back to her book.
Ethan groaned and dropped the game console with no care of it breaking or not. The poor console slammed straight onto the edge of the coffee table and bounced onto the cold, hard, marble floor. The batteries fell out of its case and scattered across the floor, wondering what they ever did to deserve this. And there it laid, the console laid, staring up at the ceiling and wondered to itself.
Why always me? Why is it always me that human #3 abuses?
Then the console took its last breath (again) and the red light from the on/off indicator turned dull for the tenth (no, hundredth) time that day. The batteries desperately tried to save their host from dying again, but they did not move an inch.
"Ethan, stop doing that." Bianca groaned, picking up the poor console and gently placing it on the coffee table.
"Doing what?" Ethan innocently said, tilting his head sideways. Bianca ignored him and placed the pleading batteries into the console. Suddenly, the console took a deep breath (kinda) and its light turned back on. The batteries cheered, for their host has revived (again). Once again, they thank their savior, the Oh So Majestic Human #1, and once again reunited with their console.
"You know what, Nakamura." Zoe suddenly materialized behind Ethan.
"HOLY SH-" Ethan fell over onto the coffee table (again) and broke the table in half (again). In despair, the console tried to cling onto its soulmates, but it was no use. Once again, the batteries were knocked out of the poor console and the console shut down before it could even curse out Human #3's name.
"Ethan Nakamura!" Bianca groaned, picking up the console and it's batteries that were crying, weeping once again, for they were separated from their loved one. The batteries immediately cheered, tears (can batteries cry?) drying up. They recognized Human #1 and knew she was here to save them from their misery.
"I'm fine, thanks for asking." Ethan groaned in pain from the floor. Pieces of glass were sticking from his skin, a blood puddle forming beneath him. Luke continued to tap away on his console, (who was thankful his human didn't abuse him like how Human #3 abuses Brett) unbothered by the bleeding boy laying in front of him.
"Ah yeah! I beat my high score!" Luke proudly cheered. Brett, Ethan's console, stared up lifelessly and jealously as Luke gently placed his console (lucky Harriet, always getting it easy because she's a girl. People are so sexist towards men these days.) onto the table.
Ethan painfully rises from the floor. Bianca looked at him, then the floor, then promptly groaned. "You're cleaning up the mess this time. I'm not gonna clean up after you every time this happens."
"Whatever." Ethan plucked out the pieces of glass. Immediately, the wounds started closing up.
Ethan looked around the room and then looked at Bianca, confused. "Where is Zoe? Wasn't she just here?"
"She left right after you fell. Said she didn't want to deal with this much idiocy today. She's with Silena and Beckendorf right now. He's one of the only boys she can tolerate with, even if Silena and she hates each other." Bianca yawned. "I'm gonna go cook dinner. Remember what we have to do after!"
Ethan groaned as he reached for the broom and dustpan in the closet. "Can't we just give them rocks? There are a bunch of unique ones on the sidewalk that we can give."
Bianca blinked at Ethan, unimpressed. "They're dog poop, Ethan. Dog poop."
"Exactly, unique. Let's just give them that." Ethan finished sweeping up the glass. He then ran away to get the mop before Bianca could continue nagging him.
