Wow, terrible about Rorke I thought. Luckily his insolence always pulls him through.

However, I reminded myself, we have a lot more important things to worry about. Who was this snitch? Why would they betray the school’s only way of escaping from this prison? That’s all it was really. Sure, our cage was gilded, but it had bars just the same.

I yawned slightly as I walked out of the board room. There was something I had to do….

Oh yes, the infallible memory was back! I trotted round the corner and ran, quite literally, into James.

“I was looking for you, I need to ask you to set something up for me…”

“Oh sure” he gave me a tired and slightly strained smile as we slid into his office.

I quickly explained my idea about concealing a small hidden camera near the entrance of the teacher’s base, connected to my laptop. This would allow me, I explained, to see who went in to see any Authority.

“That’s easy” James said with a slight laugh.

“Okay awesome, thanks so much”

“Sure, no problem”

Suddenly feeling ravenous, I decided to grab some chips before checking my emails and heading off to my Leadership Skills lesson. No rest for the wicked, I thought with a wry smile. As I approached the kitchen, I heard raised voices. Puzzled as to who it could be, I crept closer and stopped just outside the door, out of site from who I had now identified as Jess and Kelly. I was not proud of eavesdropping, but Rorke had mentioned a snitch, and I wasn’t going to take any chances when it came to the Resistance.      I leaned closer to hear what they were saying, but recoiled slightly at the volume of their argument.

“Honestly Jess!” it was Kelly’s voice, “Haven’t I dedicated my life to the Resistance since it was founded? Which in case you don’t know, was a year ago. A year Jess! Don’t you think that a year isn’t long enough to miss your family, your pets, your home? Don’t you think that a year is long enough to learn what it means to be separated from everything you love?! Do you really think that I would throw away my one chance to get it all back? To go back to life the way it was?” Kelly’s voice caught at the end with an angry sob.

“Well you just seemed extremely eager to end the argument earlier, didn’t you?” Jess’s voice was hard. “Couldn’t bare anyone to think that a member of the Board was a snitch. Because then people might start to wonder who and start looking into things…”

“Jess, how could you even imagine, even for one second that I would do something like that? How? How can you think that I would destroy everything we’ve worked for, for so long?” Kelly was crying now, furious sobs that racked her sentences, “can’t you see how much this is upsetting me?!”

“Well, you take drama don’t you? Honestly, the lengths some people will go to when they are simply betraying our last hope…our last chance. I know what you did Kelly Landon. I know you told the Authorities. I don’t know why you would do something like that, but I will find proof it was you, you ungrateful, backstabbing little-”
