Shadow's POV

"What about Timothy?" I asked. I could see people passing by the window. I just need to keep him distracted. That's my job. Ruvik said all I had to do was distract him. They would take care of the rest. Then this would all be over and we would all get out safely.

"Ah, yes. Poor Teddy." He looked at Timothy with pure evil in his eyes.

I hated to put the spotlight on him, but we needed more time. I looked at the clock above the fireplace. Ruvik told me if anything happened, to call him. So as soon as I heard Jake downstairs, I called Ruvik from the bathroom. My phone is still in my pocket, still on the call with Ruvik. That way he knows what's going on, and we can use this against Jethro when he goes to jail.

"After I got a taste of ruining someone like I did Angeline. I had to do it again. Sorry, Timothy. My father never raped me. He was a decent man, trying to keep me out of trouble. I did drugs, I did his friends, I was basically the town whore. He moved me to the states hoping I would get better. But I didn't. And one day he found a broken Timothy in my apartment. That bastard saved you. So I had to find another life to ruin." He bent down and licked Jake's cheek. Jake was fuming with anger.

"Which was easy. All I had to do was get Nicolai out of the equation. So I drugged him, slept with him, and made it look like he cheated on you. Once you were a broken hearted mess, I swooped in the pick up the pieces. The perfect way to get intel on dear old Angeline here." He leaned down near Jake, his words directed at him. It pained my heart. Jethro has used everyone here for his diabolical plan, even me.

"So yesterday... You lied?" Timothy choked.

"Well of course." He began stalking towards Timothy. I started to move to shield him but Jethro pointed the gun at me, halting my movements.

"I couldn't blow my cover just yet. What's interesting though, you forgave me Timothy. All of those things I did to you, the things I let those vile men do to you, and you forgave me. Tell me, Teddy, do you still have a soft spot for me?" He bent over, caressing Timothy's red face. Timothy looked as if he were going to explode. Literally. His face was crimson red, and he shook. From anger or from fear, I cannot tell.

"No, I don't." Timothy gritted.

"No? Didn't you put on that show earlier just for me?" Jethro grinned down as Timothy looked down in shame. My heart broke for him.

"He did it to show you that you no longer have power over him you asshole." I spat. Jethro raised his brows at me and chuckled.

"Why he did it doesn't matter. It gave me an in with Jakey here. After my heartfelt apology and Teddy's erotic show upstairs, Jake and I were left a flustered mess. What's even better is, I made Jake wait all this time for sex. He even proposed to me, and we haven't even had sex yet. I told him that I just couldn't after the things my ex did to me. So when I opened that door, Jake was happy to waltz through." He leaned down and made eye contact with Jake, who was looking at him with pure rage.
