I swung my feet off of the bed, releasing a massive yawn and extending my arms to the ceiling. My back cracked.

"Ahh." I yawned again as I shuffled out into the kitchen in my pink slippers. I had almost forgotten where I was. Then it dawned on me that is was in fact the intense hum if traffic that had woken me up so early. That mixed with jet lag. I stared down at the road below. It sounded like the rush of a river. I made myself some tea and sat at the window, simply enjoying the view of the foreign city.

"You're up early." Nialls prescence startled me, causing me to nearly drop my mug.

"Niall. Oh my god you scared me."

"Sorry. I'm ordering roo, service breakfast. That okay?"

"Sounds good." Andy got up from the couch, looking groggy and irritated. Not a morning person. Pieces of his long hair were stuck to the sides of his face. There was something about him I found extremely attractive. Of course I had the most beautiful boyfriend of all, but a girl was safe inside her mind right?

"I don't like you," Andy growled, pointing an angry finger at me, though he had a strange grin on his face.

"I don't care." Niall came back into the living room after ordering our breakfast.

"You didn't get a chance to see everything in the penthouse you know. There's this awesome music room they set up for us to practice. Come check it out." Niall took my hand and led me away from Andy. I could feel his eyes watch me as I walked out. I ignored it.

The 'music room' as they called it was amazing. There was a red grand piano, and it's ivory keys beckoned me. There were a couple guitars, one electric one acoustic. They were calling to me, "Play me, play me!" A drum set was setup in the corner, but I didn't know how to play the drums. Still, I was dying to get my hands on the instruments. I forced myself to say no. I didn't want anyone to know I could sing or okay instruments or any of that. I wasn't sure why I wanted it a secret, maybe because I wasn't ready to get judged by the biggest boy band in the world. Somehow I was able to contain the curiosity nagging in my brain.

"Wow," I said, trying not to sound to interested.

"Chris just wonderin, but why did you bring your guitar with you?" Uh, oh.

"Uhm, it's a um good luck charm." I stuttered but it sounded like more of a question. Niall thankfully bought it. There was a knock at the door.

"I got it!" Liam announced from the other room. Liam, Danielle, Eleanor, Louis, and Josh had all woken up. We didn't even bother with the others, they could have leftovers, if there was any.

Around noon, everyone decided to go grocery shopping. Eleanor, Danielle, and Lacey were going to get lunch. They gave me the job of holding down the fort. I felt completely useless and outcasted, but at the same time I wanted the place to my own so I could try out the piano and such.

"Be back in like an hour." Niall bent over to kiss my forehead.

I hadn't even gotten ready yet. I didn't have time to waste though, so I put on some jeans and a loose sweater, throwing my hair up in a messy bun. As soon as I finished, I ran to the music room. Like a kid in a candy store, I wanted some of everything. I tried the piano first.

It played like none other. The sound it produced was opposite, loud but soft, fierce but gentle. The perfect mix. I moved onto the guitars. I was never one for electric, so I went straight for the acoustic. I took a moment to take in it's woody scent and admire the glossy black finish. As good as it felt to hold, I couldn't leave my own baby. I came back with my own guitar. Almost identical, but it was more worn. Just how I liked acoustic guitars to be, to have that little rustic touch to it.

I strummed the strings, music filling the room. The tune of 'Kiss Me.' It was one of my favorites. Ed Sheeran was a genius. Even though no one was home, I was hesitant to sing. But eventually I did, I couldn't help it. My eyes closed and I was suddenly lost in the lyrics. I poured my heart out as I sang. I had gotten so into it that I didn't hear when the boys came in. I didn't even see them standing by the door of the room, peeking at me, ears in my direction, straining to get a better listen.

"I've fallen for your eyes, but they don't know me yet," I heard Niall sing in harmony.

I stopped and my eyes grew wide when I saw everyone watching me. My face got hot when they didn't say anything. Then out of nowhere Andy clapped. The rest followed his lead.

"Chris, why didn't you tell us you could do that?!" Niall said in shock. Their applaud and praise made me feel a combination of pride and utter embarrassment. The band boys patted me on the back.

"You should be signed to a record label, no joke," Zayn said. Zayn's statement seemed to make things final. He didn't seem like the type to tell a white lie.

They begged me to play more, but now I was to nervous to.

"Maybe some other time." I was still in shock so I removed myself from their dumbfounded stares. At the same time, the girls got home. I could still hear the boys talking about me, though it was all positive feedback.I laughed at the girls confused looks.

"What'd we miss?" Eleanor asked.

"A performance. A flawless performance," Harry told her. Eleanor and Danielle still seemed completely lost, bur Lacey understood immediately. She smiled slyly at me because she had always wanted me to show off my skills and now I had, on accident of course. I played it off to her like I had been brave though.

"Who wants to go explore New York City with me now?" I asked.

"As long as you bring your guitar," Andy said. Niall was in the other room and hadnt heard me. I didn't want to be rude. And Andy was just trying to make peace.

"Okay," I agreed. I was praying Niall wouldn't mind. Not really wanting to find out if he did care, I left without telling him, Andy close behind me.
