The streets of New York City were somewhat like those in London, but busier, more crowded. The holiday's were right around the corner, and everyone was in a scramble to get gifts, cards, and trees. There were melencholy people in thick trenchcoats crossing the streets on their way to work. I stood out in my white coat, drawing attention to both me and Andy. His mop was pulled back into a ponytail, and he had on a gray winter jacket and red skinny jeans. His bright pants weren't really helping our situation either. People walking by stopped to get autographs and pictures. Andy and I shooed them away, kindly at first, but after awhile we just got annoyed.

"Can't you see we just want to enjoy the city?" Andy asked them in frustration, hand protectively on my back. They left us alone in a way. They didn't beg for souveniers, but they stayed close to our sides like loyal dogs. I had enough of it.

"Go away," I demanded. I didn't care about my image, I was only known for dating Niall, I wasn't really famous. Our little puppies whimpered and separated from us, their tail between their legs and heads hung low.

"Wow, good one," Andy complimented. "Hey, why didn't you tell us you could sing." I shrugged and brushed the question off, not because I didn't want to answer it, but because I didn't know how to answer it.

"Okay, okay." Andy pushed me into some store. ;

"Wait, where are we-"

"I have no idea, but it looked cool." The store was filled with high end clothes. It made sense, we were in the high end part of the city.

I was amazed at the American fashion, with it's tight dresses, short skirts, and ten inch heels. Everything was so new and perfect and it smelled of expensive perfumes. I wanted to buy it all. Andy handed me a pair of shoes.

"Try these on," he laughed. I laughed too. Instead of actually shopping, we tried on some of the most ridiculous stuff and modeled them by cat walking around the store.

I wobbled in the heels, nearly falling over. Andy looked amused. That was until I forced him into the tightest leather pants I had ever seen.

"So tight. But they make my butt look fabulous."

Even though we could have easily spent a ton of money in those stores on 5th avenue, that wasn't really where I wanted to explore. I wanted to see Chinatown, I wanted to eat pizza. I wanted to see the street performers and I wanted to play my guitar on the corner. I wanted to act stupid and make a fool of myself. I wanted to be a nuisance to the city, just because that's how I was. I didn't care what people thought of me. Luckily for me, Andy was just the same.

The two of us were now deeper into the city, away from all the stuck up rich people. We sat side by side on the bench, a pile of snowballs in between our feet.

"One, two, three." We closed our eyes and threw them blindly at pedestrians. The people just sighed, some recognized us, others not so much. Some even threw one back. And suddenly  everyone on our street had broke into a giant snowball fight. Cameramen from the news showed up to broadcast our 'public disturbance.' They were serious about it until the news lady got hit in the head. She laughed and playfully threw one back. She beckoned for the crew to join in the fun.

"Look what we've started," I said in awe.

"I'm proud of you. First time in America and your already making the place better." Andy put an arm around my shoulders, but it made me feel guilty inside. Niall should have been beside me, not him.

"I thought you didn't like me," I retorted.

"I don't." Andy winked.

"Well I don't like you," I lied. I had more fun when I had someone to be mean to, even it was fake. I was almost positive Andy felt the same. We hadn't exactly gotten off to a good start anyways.

"Yeah, the couch was lovely last night."

"Oh that's nice. The bed was so soft, I slept like an rock."

"Way to rub it in."

"Do you think we should head back now?" I dodged a snowball.

"Good idea." We sneaked past the cameramen who were asking around who started the fight. We giggled like children.

We ran all the way back, and by the time we we were inside the hotel, we were out of breath. Niall avoided my eyes.

"Did you have fun?"

"Yeah! Me and Andy had so much fun and there was this huge snowball fight and-" Niall raised his eyebrows.

"I mean, yeah. It was okay." I gave him a big hug, which he accepted. I had been forgiven.

"I'm taking you next time," Niall whispered. He kissed me dangerously close to my lips, as if he were trying to make Andy jealous. Andy went into the kitchen to get away from us. Niall grinned, obviously pleased. Why were boys so defensive and possesive? They were so territorial! But I refused to be fought over, I was not a prize to be won.

"I'm ordering pizza," I said breaking our embrace. Niall reached for me as I walked away.
