~At Mrs.Atsuko's Mansion~
Mai's POV-
We have just arrived at Mrs.Atsuko's Mansion. It was a beautiful pale color with the red roses around it. The front door was big with windows around it.
As me and Monk got out the van, I felt weird, the mansion looks normal but the aora was dark. Hearing the others get out of their cars, as I turned Masako was the first one I saw.
Masako grew out her hair and is now wavy. She still wears her kimonos like usual. After Naru left, a year later she started going out with a guy named Mason. He's a cool guy and they look so cute together. Me and her have been friends for more than a year now. She also told me that my powers had surpassed hers. When she looked at me she nodded like she knew what I was going to ask her.
Ayako stood next to her, she didn't really change a lot but she was more helpful in our investigations. She is known to be the mother of the group, always worrying about our safety and stuff. She now has a fiancé named Leo, he looks serious but once you know him, he's a silly and loose guy. Ever since they met, she has been happier about things and I was happy that she met a nice guy.
John walked to Monk as he said hi to me. John changed like you wouldn't know. He got taller and more muscular. He looked more mature with his hair a little longer and messy. He was still the same old John though but he would actually speak out when he thought we shouldn't do something.
Yasuhara got out the car slowly and dramatic as usual. Yasu changed a bit over the years but he was still his usual dramatic self. Yasu's hair was a bit longer and when he cuts it a bit short he would usually spike it up a bit. He had new glasses that made him more mature than how he acts. But his acting skills came in handy in some of the cases especially when the client calls for more than one ghost hunting team. In those cases he would wear a professional suit he bought a while back. Which the team would laugh at how the other ghost hunters react and their expressions are usually priceless.
As the team and I head toward the door, the eerie feeling was crawling under my skin each step we took. Monk knocked when we got to the door, I looked back to see if the others felt the same thing as we walked closer. Once I heard the door open, I turned to face the client's pale face.
"Welcome to my mansion, please come in," Mrs.Atsuko greeted as she motioned us to come in while stepping back. She looked exhausted, like she hadn't gotten sleep in a while.
As we entered, the front door led to a small hallway the connects to the living room. She led us toward the living room that was painted with a creamy color and light brown furniture. As we looked around the nice looking living room, I couldn't help but notice the curtains and blindfolds where closed, not letting the sun light in at all. Like in my dream a few days ago.
"This is my family. My husband, Shin Kuba, and my two children, Lea and Kyuu," Mrs.Atsuko introduced her family that was sitting in the living room.
Her husband stood up to shake all of our hands. He was as tall as Monk, his eyes were black-ish grey-ish color and his hair was short and black. "Please to meet you, I'm glad you came," He greeted us as he shook everyone's hand.
As we sit down I looked at the kids and smiled, they seem scared of something. They didn't make eye contact with anyone, they just stared down at the table. Whatever is here seems to have gotten to them. "My name is Mai, and these are my co-workers and friends, Monk, Ayako, Masako, John, and Yasuhara," I introduced myself and the team as they all say hi when I mentioned their name. "Would you be kind enough to give us a tour around the house?" I asked and added, "Me and Monk would like to see where these experiences happened. While the others get the equipment in here." "Oh sure, my husband will show you the room we prepared for your equipment. I'll show you around with the kids," Mrs.Astuko replied as she stood up. "Thanks. Lets go Monk," I thanked them as I stood up with monk. I grabbed my note book and a pen before I started following her.
She led us to the kitchen first which was connected to the dinning room. The kitchen appliances looked brand new, the cabinets were black, the walls where painted grey, the counters were made out of black marble, and there was a island in the middle of it.
The dinning room was painted a light blue color, it had some plants in the corners, the tables and the chairs have that new modern look with the black paint on it.
"This room has the least amount of activity. Chairs would be stacked up and things would be thrown on the floor each morning when we wake up," she explained as I wrote what she said in my notebook. Then we go into the living room again, "In here the TV will turn on and off by itself. Sometimes it would be on at night on but it would be staticky. Some time the furniture would move around and the curtains would be pulled up when we wake up in the morning," She then added as she pointed to a door that was on the left of her, "That bathroom, you can see a little child that looks disfigured in the mirrors."
Walking toward the stairs that were in the middle of the living room, the little children got scared and wouldn't move any closer to them. "Why are the scared of going to the stairs Mrs.Atsuko?" I asked as I looked at the children and took note of their reaction. "They had a little encounter with the evil spirit walking down the stairs. Lea was violently pushed down the stairs while Kyuu was violently tugged at the same time and they collided together very hard. When we found them they were knocked out on the last step with blood running down their little heads and the evil spirit wrote in their blood 'Get Out Or I'll Make Your Life Hell'." As I wrote what she said down, I looked up at the stairs and saw a dark figure watching us.
"Why don't you carry Lea as I carry Kyuu," Monk told Mrs.Atsuko. "If it's okay with you sure," Mrs.Atsuko said as she picked up Lea and Monk picked up Kyuu.
As we head up stairs the figure would step back. When we reached the top the figure vanished instead of wondering where it went I was more focused on the hallway. It was just exactly as my dream only that they put a new carpet and the plants were different. I know I shouldn't be surprised by this since I've been doing this for years but it's just always so surreal. As Mrs.Atsuko continued with the tour of the mansion as I wrote down important details. I couldn't keep wondering about the room that I was dreaming about. As we grew closer to that door she stopped ten feet away from it. "Mrs.Atsuko is everything alright?" I asked a bit confused as I looked at her. "Oh yes, everything is alright. It's just that we don't like being near that room at all. Its the room that I told you about how the key was lost and that the noises are heard from there," Mrs.Atsuko said as she turned around, "That room is the final part of the tour, we should head back to your team." She lead the way back down stairs were everyone was in the room that was prepared for us.
~15 minutes later~
"Well guys we have lots to do before it turns dark. I need you, John, to make charms for the family and the whole team. Masako and Ayako go and see if you can feel anything. Yasu your going to help monk put up the cameras and recorders in each of the spots on this map," I order nicely as I point to the blueprint. Everyone went to do what I told them to do. Whatever is here it's spying on us and I don't think it's going to be quiet for too long.
