"you're gone and I gotta stay high all the time to keep you off my mind"
*******************************
Sam made her way through the drunken teens to get to kitchen. pushing and shoving. along the way, saying a few "sorry's" and "excuse me's". she finally got to the kitchen and there she found drunken teens littered everywhere.
she made her way to the stove where she saw dozens upon dozens of Jell-O shots awaiting to be drank. she picked up a blue one, then a red one, then a purple one, and finally a yhellow one. letting the familiar burning sensation take affect. she saw another arm reaching to grab some shots, her eyes roamed up the arm until she met those familiar piercing blue eyes. Hayes. he smiled down at her, she smiled back and started walking away. he watched as she left, feeling a pang in his chest watching her leave. again.
she found her way to the backyard. she looked around and finally saw the group she was looking for. The Stoners. she walked up and made herself fit in the empty spot, she made eye contact with Kristle, Sam nodded at her, and Kristle smiled. the joint came around to her and she inhaled, tasting the sweet ganja. (A/n: it's pronounced gun-jah) she looked up at the sky and exhaled. she passed it to the next person, the weed already taking affect on her.
-
he found his way to the dance floor. coming up behind a random girl and clutching her hips, making her grind on him and he grind on her. the girl had brunette hair, that was stick straight. from behind, she looked a lot like Sammy, to his dismay. the song changed and the girl turned around. she had the biggest green eyes. with freckles splashed across her nose flowing on to her cheek bones. she was perfect. But not for Hayes. he smirked at her and she returned the smirk.
-
Sam stumbled her way back into the house, grabbing a Red Solo Cup and filling about two inches of it with Captain Morgan, then the rest with a coke.
she then made her way to the living room--as of now, the dance floor--she was meeting Blaire there, she looked around a bit, finally spotting her bleach blonde best friend. she pushed her way to Blaire, when Blaire saw her she smiled.
Blaire met her half way, taking Sammy's cup from her and taking a sip. then she and Sammy started dancing (a/n: much like Lola, Janis, and Emily in LOL). Kai saw them from the beer pong table and he made his way to them, he pulled Sam away from Blaire and led her closer to the middle of the living room, he then turned her around so her butt was touching his junk. this was a normal thing for Sam and Kai to dance like this at parties, although Hayes had never seen it, until tonight.
-
a sudden feeling of jealousy washed over Hayes. 'why were they dancing like that? are they dating? if so, how long have they been dating? why isn't that me?' he thought to himself, partially forgetting about the brunette in front of him, he was focused on the love of his life dancing--excuse me, grinding--on her best friend. Hayes could understand why they would be together if they were, Kai was an attractive boy, he had jet black buzz-cut hair and big hazel eyes. and he was tall, he was about six-foot-three.
Hayes left the girl, Abby, and walked over to Sam and Kai. he pulled Sam off of him. he pulled her outside, towards the playground that was down the street from Alissa Tompkins house, the party thrower. he sat down on a swing and Sam sat down on the other.
"are...are you...with, uh, Kai?" Hayes asked, whispering it.
"what?" Sam asked, she was clearly drunk.
"are you dating...Kai?" Hayes reworded his question, also talking a bit louder, Sam looked at him incredulously, then started laughing--actually laughing--she was laughing so hard tears started to form in her eyes. leaving Hayes very confused and uncomfortable.
