"I guess we never really moved on..

It's really good to hear your voice sayin' my name

It sounds so sweet

Comin' from the lips of an angel"

*******************************

she sat in one of her dad's high school t-shirts with the name of the school on it, Seward High School (a/n: aaayeee shoutout to any Alaskan readers, lol I'm Alaskan.) she was on her laptop scrolling through her tumblr dashboard, watching gif's of cute-ass couples.

sighing, she shut her laptop and got out of bed, she walked downstairs and grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge, a knock at the front door echoed throughout the big, empty, house, Sam looked down at what she was wearing and shrugged, she walked to the door and looked through the peephole, finding Blaire and Kai? why were they knocking?

she opened the door and said, "hey?"

"hey, babe," Blaire said.

"uh, why did you guys knock? ever since like sixth grade you guys have just walked in?" Sam said, but it came out as more of a question.

"Sugarplum, we are here on business," Kai said.

"don't hate us," Blaire added, she stepped out of the way, and there stood the one and only, Hayes Grier. Sam looked back down at her outfit and tried to make the shirt look longer. "are you only wearing a shirt?!"

"uhm, uh, yeah?" Sam said, her face turning as red as a rose. Kai laughed and Hayes smiled at her. "uh, you guys can come in, I guess? just uhm, you know, let me go change."

so Kai and Blaire pushed Hayes through the door, and closed it behind him. he sighed and walked down the short hall that led to the kitchen, it was lined with photos of Sammy as a child. he smiled at the beautiful girls photos.

-

she scurried up the stairs and into her bedroom. she rushed around her room looking for shorts, pants, leggings, anything that she could wear in front of Hayes. finally, she found a pair of grey sweats, assuming that they were Kai's she slipped them up her legs. she walked back downstairs half expecting to hear the quiet bickering of Kai and Blaire, but it was silent?

-

Hayes was sat on the love seat--the love seat where they had experienced so many new feelings, so many kisses and cuddles, 'I love you's', and so many more things. it felt odd for both of them at this period in time.

"hey," Hayes said, standing up from the love seat and walking towards Sammy with his arms open wide, Sam didn't know what to do, so she did the only rational thing she could think of; she walked into his arms, and hugged him back, tighter than ever.

"hey," she whispered. "how have you been?"

"I've been, uhm, different," Hayes sighed.

"what do you mean?" she pushed.

"uhm, like, I don't really know how to describe it?" Hayes said, but Sam gave him a look that they both knew he couldn't resist, "like, I feel, numb? is that a way to put it? yeah, it's good enough, like I just don't feel, happy. like everything is dull and lifeless and boring and shitty without you, Princess."

"I feel the same," Sam sighed. "but I think this time--or breakup-- is good for us, you know? like we are, like, finding ourselves without each other?"
