Sam, Hayes, Blaire, Cameron, Kai and Alexa sat there, they were going on a triple date. Kai met Alexa when he was on the plane back up to New York, coming from visiting his cousin, Jack (a/n: yes Jack Gilinsky) She was just moving to town, so Kai decided to show her around, and introduce her to everyone he knew; well the ones he actually liked. as they kept hanging out, they kinda grew feelings for each other, so Kai asked her on a date, it went great, so their relationship had progressed since the end of summer, now it's fall, the time of school again.

anyhow, back to the date, they were sat in the Cheesecake Factory, exchanging small talk and loving looks, well Sam and Hayes were sharing loving looks, everyone else was not far enough into their relationships to love one an other.

obviously Cameron and Leighnie moved in with the Sparks, and there are pros and cons to this, the pros being: Sam always has someone home with her, the house is more lively and their friends are always over. cons are: Blaire and Cameron are always hanging out, Cameron is messy and lazy, and Leighnie is always blasting crappy music. but either way, Sam is happy. she has a family; a real family. and an older brother, Cameron is always looking out for her, and he's really protective over her, and at first it confused Sam, because the only boy who was protective over her--aside from her father and Hayes--was Kai and so it was a good change.

"so, I overheard my dad talking to a friend, Cam," Sam said, Cam hummed in response. "I think he's gonna propose to your mom."

"WHAT?" Cam choked on his drink, and everyone's eyes grew wide, and were confused as to why and how Sam was so nonchalant about this!

"well, I'm not a hundred percent, but he was like," Sam coughed and furrowed her eyebrows, lowering her voice "okay, 'I think I'm gonna ask Leighnie to marry me'."

"oh my god! Sam that was great!" Alexa said, everyone started laughing at Sam's impression of her father, making Sam embarrassed and tried hiding behind Hayes, but he was too busy laughing at Sam to notice.

"ugh, stop it," the bright red girl, spluttered out.

"I'm-I'm so-sorry!" Kai said, Sam sighed and put her head in her hands.

"o-okay," Blaire said; recovering from her laugh attack. "well I think it's awesome your families are getting married...does that even make sense?"

Sam acted happy, but she missed her real mom...

"yeah, babe. it made sense," Sam said, giving her a small, barely there, smile.

"I wonder how he'll do it?" Alexa sighed, almost dreamily.

"I don't know, Lexa, but it'll probably be really cute," Blaire said.

"yeah, I wonder if he'll do it in town or out of town," Lexa asked.

"I'm not sure. but imagine if he did it on a boat!" Blaire squealed.

"babe, what's wrong?" Hayes whispered in Sam's ear, before placing a sweet kiss.

"I--uh--nothing," Sam sighed.

"don't lie," Hayes said, laughing a bit.

"I just--I miss--I miss my mom," Sam admitted, immediately feeling bad. "I mean--don't get me wrong! Cam and his mom are amazing, and I love them, but I miss my mom."

"I knew what you meant, princess," Hayes answered. "and there is nothing wrong with missing your mom, babe, it's perfectly normal! and you'll see her soon enough, won't you? isn't she coming up to give you your late birthday present?"

"yes!" Sam said happily, remembering her and her mothers deal.

"what's got you all excited?" Alexa asked.

"my mom!" Sam said.

"okay? what about her?" Cam asked.

"I get to see her in about a week!" Sam squealed.

"oh? what for?" Kai asked, big brother mode kicking on.

"relax, Kai, it's just so she can give me my birthday present," Sam rolled her eyes.

"but, your birthday was in, like--" Kai stated.

"July! Kai! my birthday was in July! we've been friends for longer than I can remember, and you cannot even remember my birthday!" Sam said, faking hurt.

"I'm sorry!" Kai put his arms up in mock-surrender, causing the table to erupt in laughter.

"I heard it was someone's birthday here! whose is it?" a waitress asked, everyone pointed at Sam. "happy birthday, dear! I'll be right back out with your free birthday cake!"

once again, the teenagers on the triple date, erupted into laughter, and Sam sighed shaking her head. as promised, the waitress, Georgia, came back with a cake and her co-workers.

"happy, happy, birthday! from all of us to you, we're glad you had a birthday, so we could party too! woot woot!" the people cheered. "happy birthday, dear, make a wish!"

Sam blew the candle out, making a 'wish'. they cut the vanilla cake, and all got a piece. Sam lost her appetite, in fact, it's been happening a lot lately, Hayes knew, and sighed knowing Sam wasn't gonna eat it.

"babe?" Blaire asked, looking at Sam. "aren't you gonna eat your birthday cake?"

"uhm, I'm-I'm, uh, just not, uhm, hungry," Sam spluttered out.

everyone nodded, and Hayes took the attention off his princess and put it on Blaire and Cameron. he nudged Sam and took her plateful of food, and at some of it, also giving her some.

"thank you," she whispered.

"of course," Hayes said. "I love you."

"I love you, too, Hayes," Sam said, looking up at Hayes.

"stay forever with me," he said.

"ah, quoting music now, are we?" Sam laughed, Hayes laughed, too.

"yup!" he said proudly.

"you're a cutie."

"no, that's you, baby," Hayes said.

"no."

"yes."

"no!"

"yes! now shush up!" Hayes laughed.

"you guys are so cute!" Lexa said, causing Sam and Hayes to blush.

"thank you, you and Kai are really cute, too!" Sam said.

"thank you!" Kai said.

"you guys are cute, too!" Kai said to Cameron and Blaire.

"thank you!" Cam said, with his thicker Australian accent.

the teens sat and talked a little bit, and then got the check, the guys paid, typical. the girls tried paying, but it didn't happen. the waitress smiled at Hayes and Sam, simply because Sam was practically asleep on Hayes shoulder.

"she's a keeper, don't mess it up," she whispered to Hayes.

"I couldn't ever," Hayes smiled.
