Chapter 11: Reasons

Darren's POV 

"Good morning, Mr. Icing," everyone greeted me and cheered as I entered the room. I lowered my head. This day is just going to be different. "Hi, Icing. Sorry I didn't got to hang-" I cut Lygienel. I just walked passed by her, ignoring her excuse.

I'm trying to make a difference right now. I glanced at Lygienel for a second, she really looked so shocked. Her eyes widened then, she went to my side. I ignored her. I grabbed my chair and exchanged seats with Juan Karlos even though JK isn't here yet.

"I-icing, are you o-okay? I'm sorry for y-" I cut her off again, feeling annoyed. "Look, I don't care, okay? Now shut up," I told her, sitting down. She looked at me with tears in her eyes, as she nodded, she sat down in her seat directly. I feel so guilty. I shouldn't have said that.

Then suddenly, my phone buzzed. Someone texted me.

From: Ron
To: Nash, Hayes and Darren

We have to talk. Later at dismissal. Aasahan ko kayo mamaya. Lalo na ikaw, Darren.  

I looked at my left to see Ron already looking at me. When Juan Karlos got to enter the room, everyone greeted and cheered again. "Good morning, Mr. Filling!" they said. I rolled my eyes. When Juan Karlos noticed that I exchanged out seats, he smiled at me.

Then I panicked when I saw Lygienel's head on her hands. She was crying. And it's because of me. I just felt more guilty. Then, Juan Karlos went near her, Juan Karlos removed her hands of her face then hugged her.

I sighed. I shouldn't have did that. I shouldn't have said that. I just only made the situation worse.

Juan Karlos looked at me then sent me daggers by glaring at me. Lygienel probably told him what the problem was. "Guys, Mrs. Mariano, Ms. Tadejo, Mr. Cruz, Mr. Pelaez and Mrs. Bautista aren't going to attend our classes for the rest of the week due to their seminar," our class president announced. Everyone in the classroom cheered.

We only have 8 periods a day. 5 of our teachers are absent for the rest of the week. Only 3 of our 8 teachers will attend our classes. Looks like everytime is a free time!

Lygienel's POV

It was dismissal already. I sat on the bench near the dining hall. I looked at the ground and sobbed quietly. What did I do wrong to Darren? Is it because I've did not got to hang-out with them last night?

"Miss, are you okay?" I heard a voice asked. I wiped my tears away and looked up. It was Janhella Gomez. Janhella Gomez was Darren's ex-girlfriend. Darren got to state every bit of Janhella. Janhella isn't like any other girls out there. She's kind, humble, helpful and very down to earth. But, Darren didn't explained why they broke up and how they got together.

"Hey. You're Lygienel, right?" She asked, sitting beside me. Something's really up. Since Darren and I got to be friends, he is always with me wherever I go. He would even accompany me outside the rest room.

And now, I was shocked and confused that Darren is with Ron, Hayes and Nash instead of being with me. Juan Karlos got a text from his uncle that he have to go home, so I let him go home even though he really want to accompany me. Then, I just smiled at Janhella and nodded.

"Why aren't you with Darren? Did you guys broke up?" Janhella asked me. I shot my eyes wide open at her. She chuckled and asked why. "No. We didn't broke up because.. we're not a couple," I simply told her. Then, she blushed so hard.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry," she said. I chuckled at her nodded. "It's okay. Hey, I have a question to ask. Would you mind?" I asked her. She laughed at me and answered, "You just did." I laughed along with her. She was very nice and funny.
