Luke nervously walked into the classroom and adjusted himself. He wasn't exactly sure as to why he was nervous. It was just some AP creative writing class. But then again, that's what they all say. He honestly wasn't in the mood for some boring class. Besides, he wasn't even good at writing.
Luke took his seat in an empty desk while all the other students gave him looks of confusion. Most of them looked a lot older than him. I mean they are college kids.
A short woman with long brown hair that clung to her torso walked in the room, she had to jump up to sit on her desk. She then brushed her bangs away from her face and pushed up her glasses. She began lecturing but Luke couldn't really focus. His mind was fixated on Adrianna, like always. As soon as he got to her house yesterday she was on the floor in tears. There wasn't much he could do but hold her, she wouldn't tell him what was wrong or why she was feeling that way. All she could manage to do was cry. Luke hated seeing her cry. It made him feel stupid and like he wasn't doing good enough to make her happy. He tried his best to ask her what was wrong but it was clear she didn't want him, or anyone to know. Luke was so worried he even stayed up all night with her.
They talked about everything, literally. You name it and they talked about it, hell, they even talked about Michael. She said she ran into him the other day and the first thing he said to her was if Luke had 'got it in yet.' Luke had to take away Michael's pizza the next morning for that.
"As you all can see, we have a new student today." The teacher turned towards Luke and motioned for him to stand. "Would you like to introduce yourself?"
He stood up effortlessly and began to speak, "Hi uh.. I'm Luke." He murmured as everyone's gaze softened and went back to the teacher.
"Why hello Luke, I'm Mrs.Andrews. Welcome to Creative Writing." She plastered on a smile and walked over to the board. She pulled out a red marker and pulled off the cap.
"Now, I know you were just transferred into this class Luke, but that doesn't mean you get excused from a project I assigned yesterday." She began writing, each motion smooth and quick. The letters joined together to read Three Months.
"You have three months to write a paper on anything. Anything you want, how ever it has to have logic and reason. Explain why you're writing about this topic. What does it mean to you? You can write as much as you like but the minimum is 4 pages typed." She then erased the board and smiled, "any questions?" He shook his head without hesitation. Mrs.Andrews continued to lecture to the class about famous authors, and once again, he didn't really pay attention.
A few minutes into the lecture Luke felt someone pat his shoulder. He turned to see some guy with scruffy black hair and broad shoulders. "Hey man I'm Allen." He held out his hand for Luke to shake, however Luke had to turn around so it was quite awkward. Allen leaned in and kept his voice low so Mrs.Andrews wouldn't hear.
"If your stressing about the project, don't sweat it. It's easy. Just write about strippers or something." A wide grin spread across his face. Luke laughed.
"No thanks, that's my friend Michaels job. You might like him."
"Really? Sounds like you've got some cool friends." Allen locked his eyes on the teacher to make sure she wasn't looking.
"Yeah they're alright, but Michael can get pretty weird," Luke quickly copied down something Mrs.Andrews wrote on the board and turned his attention back to Allen, "I could introduce you two if you'd like. You'd get along really well." Luke motioned to the play boy magazine hidden underneath Allen's note book. He laughed.
"Yeah, yeah sounds good. After class?" Allen tilted his head and Luke nodded. They both went and turned their attention back on Mrs.Andrews. Within a few minutes the bell rung and Allen was following Luke to the High School campus. They didn't talk much. Allen seemed weird and creepy. Way worse than Michael. Michael wasn't even that bad but Allen was something else.
Luke wasn't even sure if Michael liked Allen, but they seemed to hit it off well. They were exchanging jokes and talking about TV shows.
"Hey what's up with that Allen guy?" Ashton asked while resting his arm on Calum's shoulder.
"I don't know, he just started talking to me in my AP class and I told him I'd introduce him to Mike." Luke said as he watched his colored haired friend laugh with this stranger.
"He seems a bit... Odd." Ashton furrowed his eyebrows.
"Odd? Nah, just really perverted." Calum laughed. Ashton shook his head.
"No, no.. I've seen him somewhere before but I don't remember... But I don't have a good feeling." Ashton sighed and Calum rolled his eyes.
"Quit being so paranoid. It's embarrassing me." Calum stepped away from Ashton.
"I'm embarrassing you?! Says the one who clings to me like a lost puppy." Ashton crossed his arms.
"Would you two shut up? You sound like an old married couple." Luke glared at them.
"Whatever," Ashton groaned. "So how's Adrianna?" Luke shrugged.
"I don't know. She was crying like crazy when I got there, she wouldn't tell me what was wrong. I'm worried." He frowned.
"Just give it time, I'm sure she'll come around." Calum smiled and patted Luke on the shoulder. Ashton did the same.
"Yeah, I guess you're right." Luke sighed.
He really hated seeing Adrianna so upset. It gave him this feeling in the pit of his stomach and he could never understand what it meant. He wanted Adrianna to open up to him but he also didn't want to push her or upset her anymore. He just wanted to be a normal couple and not have to worry about anything. However, things don't work that way.
Not for Adrianna.
