Luke looked up at the dark sky and twirled the flashlight around in his hands. He was thinking, trying to put all the pieces together. He didn't understand any of the words that escaped from her lips. He didn't want to believe anything she was saying. He didn't want to come to the realization that this was happening.

"Are you scared?" He turned to look at her. Of course she was scared. Who wouldn't be? But Adrianna shook her head.

"I'm not scared.. I'm just.." She trailed off, she didn't know what to say or how to put her words together. "I think we all knew this was going to happen at some point.. Everyone saw it coming, my mom, my friends. Everyone."

Luke felt his eyes sting with tears. He was finally beginning to understand.

"Everyone seemed to notice, except you." She reached up to wipe his tears. Her hands were cold and stung his skin, but he liked it.

"I thought you were okay.." He choked out between sobs and pulled her closer. He gripped her tiny body as tight as he could. He didn't want her to leave. He wanted to keep her safe forever.

"I'm sorry." She gently ran her fingers through his hair. He wanted desperately to stay in this moment forever. He didn't care if he was sad, he just wanted so badly to be around her and was infatuated with the way he felt when he was close to her.

"Remember that day we met, at the coffee shop?" She smiled slightly. He nodded.

"And you asked why I ripped out the page in the book?" Luke couldn't help but smile.

"Of course, you said you didn't like endings." He rested his chin on her shoulder.

"Yeah.." She pulled away and spread out on the hard tile cement. "This is one ending I particularly wish to rip apart.." She put on a painful smile and intertwined their fingers.

Luke sighed and shut his eyes to try and keep the tears from falling. His head pounded with so many questions and his chest hurt. He just wanted to forget this. "It's not fair.."

Adrianna shook her head and tried to change the subject. "Do you remember that list of questions?"

"The one I made when we met up that one time?" He pulled her back into him and buried his face into her neck.

"Yeah.. The one you always add questions to." She laughed softly and kissed the top of his head. "Ask me another.."

He hesitated. There were many things he hadn't asked her before. Many things he never even said. He took his time to think about a question. He didn't want to waste it. So he thought of a question he never thought of asking her, and it involved the word love.

Not in the short amount of time that they've known each other, did they ever say I love you, but Luke knew he loved her. He wanted to explain how he felt about her and why he loved her, but that's like explaining what water tastes like.

"Do you love me?"

Luke sat up in his seat, gasping for air. He ran a hand through his hair and glanced over at Adrianna. His eyes followed the shape and curves of the baby blue sheet covering her body. He leaned forward and took her hand. It was cold and pale.

"If you're going to leave, make it quick... Because the slower you move and the longer you take," his vision clouded with tears, " the more it hurts."

He began sobbing loudly.

"And I'm not sure how much longer I can last like this.."

This was short. And a filler. Actually it wasn't really a filler, it was more of a 'to get you guessing' type of thing.

I'm gonna be completely honest, I hate this story.

I feel like I do such a crappy job at writing this. And I'm sorry. I think it's because I've been working on two other ones that I really like (Addiction and Crepuscular) so I got a bit lazy with this.

But holy poop 18k reads and it's only the 6th chapter?!!! Wow you have no idea how happy that makes me. I love you guys.

Anyways.. I'll try to focus on this more because I know you all like it. That's all for now. Bye.
