Jimin POV
"...Okay?" I say, finishing explaining the maths topic they learned last week. Glancing up at him from the paper, the bell rings but he doesn't budge as his eyes gaze over what I've just written.
"But, wait. Wouldn't x equal nine then?" He asks, looking over the problem I've written up for him. I grin at him, nodding my head.
"Exactly. Now come on. Let's take a break. You can go and get some lunch with your friends, Jungkook. You're doing really well right now." I tell him with a smile as I lean back in the black plastic chair. He frowns, shaking his head as he looks up at me.
"I have no friends to eat with, Jimin. Besides, I wanna keep working. I need to bring my grades up." He says with a slight frown before eyeing the problem he'd just completed with a little help. However, I frown deeply at his words.
The poor boy doesn't even have any friends here?
Sighing with a slight smile, I stand up and walk away from him and the table. I can feel his confused gaze on my back as I head to the chair where I dropped my bag at.
"Hyung, what are you doing?" Jungkook asks, a hint of unsureness and sadness in his voice. I feel my heart break a bit by his tone.
He really does want to bring his grades up really badly, doesn't he?
I don't answer though, opening my bag up instead. Sitting through the things I have in my school bag, I soon find the two items I'm looking for. Smiling triumphantly to myself, I grab the two smaller brown paper bags out of my school bag before returning to the table with them.
"We can keep working, but I want you to eat lunch, Jungkook. It's unhealthy to skip meals and you need the extra energy by the time you're midway through your day. Especially considering how hard you're working. You have to be okay with cutting yourself a small break occasionally." I tell him seriously as I pass the bag across the table to him.
"Hyung, no. It's okay, I'm not hungry and this is your food." Jungkook responds with a frown, trying to push it back to me.
"Jungkook, it's not a handout. Okay? Just eat the food instead of letting it go to waste. Besides, I know you are hungry even if you don't want to admit it." I answer with a quiet sigh, pulling out the sandwich I'd made from my bag. He continues frowning at me though.
"Eat. It's not like I poisoned it. I promise I'm not that mean." I joke around before taking a bite out of my sandwich. He groans but finally gives in as he pulls out the sandwich I'd made for him.
"This wasn't supposed to be your dinner, right?" He asks hesitantly, glancing up at me from the food in his hands. I give him a smile and shake my head.
"No, Jungkook. I had a feeling you'd do something like this and wanted to make sure you had something to eat." I partially lie through my teeth. In all honesty, I knew he'd do this. Considering what Ms. Lee had told me about him yesterday evening, I wouldn't be surprised if the sweet boy across from me only eats one meal a day. And I doubt that meal is anything big. It's already clear that he's in a very similar situation to what I was in at his age, and I want to help him out of it as much as I can.
"Thank you, hyung." He mumbles softly with a small sigh before taking a bite out of the sandwich. I just give him a smile and nod my head.
"If you'd like, I can bring you lunch everyday." I offer before taking another bite as we seem to take a bit of a break from the lesson. I can tell just by how quickly he's eating that he'd been lying when he'd said that he wasn't hungry. However, at my words, his stops mid bite as he looks up at me with wide eyes. I can see the confusion and worry in them.
"No, you don't have to do that, hyung. Really, it's okay. You shouldn't have even brought this with you today as it is. I don't want to waste your food that you work hard to be able to afford." Jungkook answers with a small frown. I chuckle in response.
"It's a sandwich, Jungkookie. A sandwich and a bag of chips. Besides, I'm the one who should be worrying about the prices of lunch since I packed it." I respond with a grin. He pouts a little in response and I swear it just might've been the cutest thing I've seen yet.
"Hyung." He whines with that pout and I can't help but continue grinning at him.
"Make you lunch everyday? Got it." I tell him before chuckling again as he starts whining once more.
"Nooooo. Hyung, you really don't have to do that. I'm perfectly fine with out it." He says, clearly trying to persuade me out of my idea. However, I grin once more as I shake my head.
"I like the idea and I wanna do it. It's already been decided. Besides, you can't tell me that when you devoured that sandwich quicker than even me." I point out with another chuckle as he blushes lightly with a pout.
"Fine." He huffs in defeat as we finish eating in a comfortable silence. Once we finish, I take the trash and toss it in the bin by the door.
"You wanna get back to work now?" I chuckle as I take my seat across from him once more. He gives me a small smile and nods in response.
"Alrighty. Then I want you to... solve this equation on your own." I respond as I write out a new problem for him.
