//so so so sorry, accidentally published chapter twenty last night//
*nine months later*
the new house smelled like paint and it had weak lighting and electricity running through every room. taehyung sat on a torn up couch that was in the middle of what he imagined to be his living room. he liked the bright lights now in the apartment, he was used to them. it gave him the opportunity to see everything in a clearer way.
taehyung's stomach growled and he groaned, looking around to see if he had any snacks laying around to munch on. subin had let taehyung go home and get settled into his new house. he had just made enough to buy a new large space in the middle of town. he wanted to make the first floor a parlor of some sort, and the second floor he still didn't know. the third floor would be where he lived. it seemed larger than it actually was, as it was more of a square shaped building. the house looked like a rectangle if you put it on its side. the apartment was somewhat expensive so subin offered to help taehyung until he was okay on his own, then he would have to pay her back.
taehyung decided to leave his house and get some food. it was snowing outside since it was now january and he loved to see the frozen rain in the sky. he grabbed his dark jacket he still had from spring and put on a hat that framed his head perfectly. it pulled back parts of his hair showing some of his forehead. he looked stunning.
taehyung walked down the street, the sun was still up, though it was snowing and taehyung loved the contrast. he wished he knew how to tattoo the image in his mind. snow and the people there were new things taehyung had also begun to love, along with the sun and the light it provided
taehyung was looking for a new place to eat, since there were always so many options, he still hadn't eaten at them all. his eyes were wide with wonder, sparkling at the new sights. he finally saw a small box shaped restaurant and went in to grab a drink. he pulled open the door and it jingled a little making him jump.
the interior walls were a light brown, a calming color to taehyung. the booths on the wall were a grey color and some decorative half walls were made of bricks. the restaurant was a change of scenery which taehyung loved
taehyung was finding new ways to love everything in the new town.
he approached the counter while looking at the menu, banana milk was in the center and he immediately knew that was what he wanted to get.
"may i get an order of banana milk to stay and one to go?" taehyung asked pulling out his fuller wallet. he still didn't have tons of money but he chose to spend what he did have on what made him happy.
"sorry sir, a young boy has recently come in a ordered all the banana milk we have."
taehyung stared at her in shock.
"can't you like, make more?"
"no, we're sorry sir. is there something else you would like?" taehyung grumbled and ordered some coffee. what asshole would come in and order all the banana milks the store had?
taehyung turned around after waiting for his drink and his eyes immediately caught someone else's. the boy had bright red hair, but his eyes were still the same. they still held their innocence, while the red brought out some new nature in him that taehyung couldn't place.
"jungkook?"
taehyung was shocked to see jungkook here. he had moved past all they went through since he moved. he was actually trying to change what kind of person he was. he had been working on his anger issues with subin, and he was getting better. but it was very difficult since getting upset was the only way taehyung knew how to deal with his emotions while growing up.
"hi tae," jungkook sad smally, pushing his body in front of all the empty cups on his table.
"you're the imbecile who ordered all of the banana milks?" jungkook nodded sheepishly and pushed a full glass towards the other side of the table.
"you are welcome to have this one. i guess it was selfish of me to order so much." jungkook blushed and looked down as taehyung sat on the other side of the table.
jungkook noticed how stunning taehyung looked and felt a little embarrassed at his own appearance. he was wearing a long white shirt and some jeans. his new red hair was curly and tangled on his head.
when taehyung left town changes happened almost immediately. seokjin and hoseok grew a bit sadder, but decided once they figured out what they wanted to do together they'd joining taehyung and be bubbly and happy again. yoongi, jimin, and namjoon were still okay, they were still functioning normally. but jungkook had been a mess. he didn't know what to do with himself. he expressed himself with art but it wasn't always enough. he found himself throwing more tantrums when unable to express how he felt. this was also because he didn't have many people to talk too about his feeling and pent up sadness. namjoon was always out now, and that was his only friend left.
so, jungkook died his hair and left. he had been in the new town for not very long, but had already been loving it. the people were so kind and welcoming and constantly complimented his hair, which jungkook loved.
he was enjoying himself, drinking tons of banana milk when he saw taehyung walk it. his jacket sleeves rolled up and tattoos on show. he had a beret on his head and jungkook wanted to moan at the sight of him. he looked stunning.
jungkook and taehyung had both put the fight past them, as they didn't want to deal with their pasts too much anymore, they wanted to become newer versions of themselves. and that started with moving on. taehyung had done a great job of it, while never actually finding anyone better than jungkook, opposite of what he had said. and jungkook had cried lots more than stopped, realizing taehyung wasn't gonna come back and apologize. jungkook needed a confidence booster as well and namjoon recommended dying his hair, so he did. fiery red for his new personality. but, of course at the sight of taehyung he melted into a pile of mush. he turned soft again.
"thank you," taehyung said, wrapping his plump rosy lips around the silver metal straw that was inside the clear glass cup. jungkook gulped, nodding.
"yeah, i shouldn't take that much for myself anyway."
they sat in silence. it was awkward. so much had changed and neither of them knew what to talk about anymore, until taehyung did.
"how's the art gallery idea coming along?"
jungkook frowned. it wasn't coming along at all. in fact he didn't know what he wanted to do anymore. he had just wasted his money on milk. he didn't have a place to stay, and had given up on his old dreams because he wanted to focus on the future. technically, that logic wouldn't make sense to anyone else. but, to jungkook he was only forgetting his past goals by not wanting to continue the art gallery.
