Me and Charles walked along the riverbanks. We had gotten a couple rabbit and was having a friendly conversation when Charles threw a hard one at me. Question I mean.

"You and Arthur get along well. You know he doesn't normally do that?" Charles says.

"Really? Well he's fun to be around. His voice is soothing." I get lost for a bit in my mind.

"I.... this is awkward." Charles chuckles.

"I mean, would I even have a chance?" I shrug.

"He used to have a girl. Mary." Charles points out.

"Mary-Beth? What the fu-"

"No not that one. Just Mary." Charles laughs softly.

"Oh." I immediately feel stupid.

Charles talks more and more and then I began thinking.

Gotta say, never once had a man been able to make me go loose like this. Never once had a man make me feel weak at the knees. Until I met Arthur. A simple yet dignified man.

I didn't much like being on the run so much but this man had made it seem bearabtable.
"I guess I do have a thing for Arthur. Maybe." I shrug.

"Figured." Charles said.

We arrived in camp and I lay the dead rabbits on the chopping table.

"Let's not make the stew uneatable with spice now." Pearson teased.

"Fffffunny." I hiss.
I turn and see Arthur, writing in that book of his.

"Heeeey, Arthur." I walk up.

"Hi, Robin." He responds.

"Do you wanna go for a ride or somethin'?" I ask.

"A ride?" He closes his book and puts it in his bag, studying me.

"That's what I said." I smile.

"Alright." Arthur throws his hands up and we walk to our horses. But we're intercepted by Dutch.

"Arthur. C'mere we need to talk. You too Robin." Dutch points.

°°°

Dutch spent hours talking to us about "Braithwaits" And some "Gray" family.

I look at Arthur to make a remark and see a shiny deputy badge on his shirt.

"Well, deputy Morgan!" I salute.

"You don't salute the law, dumbass." Arthur spat.

"I salute brave men." I wink.
Arthur gives me a look.

"We don't have time for y'all's romance shit. Listen here.... these two families are in a fight. Robin and Arthur go to the Grays and check it out." Dutch orders.

I tag along behind Arthur and we saddle up.

----

We arrive at a giant house! Bigger than any I've ever saw.

"Holy shieeeet." I stare wide eyed.

Arthur chuckles and we stop at the front gate with two guards.

"Who're you?" A guard asks.

"Deputy. Lookin' for a Beau Gray." Arthur says.

"Who's this? She doesn't have a badge." The guard hisses.

"She's my...." Arthur trails off.

"Wife?" They question.

Aw hell yea.

"Sure yes." Arthur says.
The guards exchange a look and let us pass.

"Well husband." I start.

"No." Arthur gets off his horse.

I laugh and get off Ace to follow him.

We ask a farmhand about the man Arthur seems to know and we head over to around a shed where a young man was reading a book.

Him and Arthur started talking but...
This man, uh, Beau...
He...

He loved this girl. A Braithwaite. And it was forbidden for them to love eachother.
I found it sweet, especially when he wanted us to deliver letter to her. But then Arthur was being an ass about it.

"You bit-.... Darling how about we do them a favor?" I put on a sweet voice and pinch Arthur's side.

He clamps his lips and then softens his gaze.

He grabs the letter and stomps off.

"Have a good day, Beau." I smile.

"You too, Mrs!" He waves.

I get on Ace and Arthur on his horse.

"Why do you have a far away look in your eyes?" I ask Arthur.

"Haven't been called darling in years. Why you lookin' at my eyes?" Arthur gives a double take.

"We get used to it. Because for a bit I'm Mrs. Morgan." I smile.

Arthur chuckles and shakes his head.

This is gonna be great.
