I sat in his car looking out the window and panting in the wind. The intern was still super mad but when he looked back at me he smiled.
I walked up to the front seat because I wanted to sit with him. I licked his face. First he got mad at me because he was trying to focus on the road but then he laughed. When we finally got their I realized we were at the police department.
He no longer had a smile.
He walked into the building. Everybody stared at me and was confused why I was there.
The intern took me into the elevator and we went up to the top floor. We walked through the hall and went to the last room.
We barged in.
Inside I saw a huge beautiful office. The walls were all glass so you could see a beautiful view of the city.
Inside the office I saw the boss of the police. He was sitting at the desk doing paperwork."Don't you knock?" asked the boss not even looking up from his work.
"How dare you?!" The intern yelled with small tears in his eyes and anger in his tone.
"How dare you blame this dog for what it's owners have done! Every dog deserves a chance and you didn't even put this dog on the adoption site! You are the chief of the police and you know that's illegal! I could go down to RSPCA right now and I don't even know what they'd do to you but I do know that you would not be able to keep this job!"The police kept a straight face and said: "I'm sorry but who are you?! Oh yeah, you are an intern! You don't even get paid and you think you can yell at the head of the department! Plus..." He started to grin ferociously and even though the rage in his voice hadn't dialed down his tone had "... He is on the website."
The intern and I walked towards his computer. The boss typed in the adoption site after that he went to the blocked part and typed in a long password. My add came out.
"See." he said with a know-it-all tone.
"You blocked his add?!" The intern said with his mouth wide open.
"It's still on the website! Everything has loopholes you know." The boss said with a smirk. "And in a week when he doesn't get adopted he will be put down!"
"How can you be so cruel! What could possibly happen if you spared Chocolate's life?" He yelled.
"Well, John," I finally knew his name. "I would be careful with your words because I can fire you like this:" He snapped his fingers.
"Well than why haven't you?!" John said.
"I like your coffee, ok?" he said. "But I will still do it. Your just an intern! Your worth nothing! All you do is serve coffee and earn college credit!" he said roughly this time.
"Well if I save this dog I will be worth much more than you are!" John said. "I will find a way!" Then he stomped out of the office while taking me with him.
We got in his car. This time there was no way to make him smile.
We got to the adoption site place. The women put me into my cage looking annoyed that she had to do more work and John told me that he would visit me tomorrow. He pat me on the head.
That made me really happy.
After he left I couldn't sleep. Not because of the loud whining and barking of dogs, I was used to that but I couldn't sleep knowing that there was no hope that I would stay alive.
I didn't wanna lose John, he had become my best friend...
