In the morning I woke up very early, when the sun was coming up.
I was waiting for John.
I knew he had work and that he wouldn't be here till night but I wanted to see him as much as I could before I died.

I stood there all day, not closing my eyes once, waiting for John. I got really tired but I wasn't giving up. At about 8:00 he finally came.
He had a huge smile on his face and he was practically jumping up and down. His excitement made me excited. My tail wagged from side to side so hard that it hurt while it hit the walls.
He came up to my cage and saw my tail wagging.

"Are you as exited as I am boy?!" He asked in a happy voice.

I still didn't know why he was excited and happy but his tone made my ears go back as he talked.
He took me out of my cage and outside of the building for a walk.
The weather was sunny with a little wind.
"Chocolate your going to live! I promise. I have an idea..."

I really wondered what his idea was but of course I couldn't ask.
I stared with my eyes faced toward the sun so they would glimmer and gave him my cutest puppy dog eyes. Even though I was begging to know his plan he thought I was begging for food so he gave me a treat.
I enjoyed the treat but I still didn't didn't know the plan...
He walked me towards the adoption place. To my surprise he passed it and kept walking me, he took me into his car.
I was really happy.
He drove slowly, feeling no rush to do anything now that he had figured everything out.
His mischievous smile made me even more excited. He was definitely going to save me.

We got there and I realized I was right... We were at the police station.
We went up to the top floor again. We went into the bosses office.

"Oh, it's you again..." The boss said in an annoyed voice.

"You bet. Not to mention I have found a way to save this dog." He pointed at me. " After all, everything has a loophole..." He used his own words against him. "I am going to adopt this dog. And since he is my dog you can not put him down!"

His words amazed me. I just wanted to keep every one of them. I finally had an owner. A good owner.. No words could explain my feelings.
The boss stayed silent as if he was reliving everything in his mind trying to find a solution. There was a long silence.

"I..I..." The boss didn't know what to say and somehow his stutters were music to my ears.

"I knew you would react that way" John had a smirk on his face.

"I....I...." The boss repeated.

John walked out of the office as if he was the boss. We went down the stairs. We got in the car.
Was I going to his house?
We went on familiar roads and got to the adoption site place.
I was really disappointed. We walked towards the front desk.
We went next to the lady who worked there.

"Hi, my name is John Brown and I want to adopt this dog."

"You take him every night anyway so he's practically yours." She said uninterested "Name and breed?"

"John, human" he laughed at his own joke but the woman just stared.

"Of the dog!" The women almost yelled.

I thought it was funny...

"Chocolate, german shepherd." She typed some stuff on her computer.

"I'm sorry there is no german shepherd called Chocolate on our website..." I panicked.
Was a stupid website going to come between me and John, me and a good life?
