"Really? Right off the bat?" Nina raised her brows in surprise.
Kaiser gently tapped her forehead as he reached down for her injured arm.
"Look at how reckless you are," he sighed as he placed his palm a few centimeters away from her wounds. Suddenly, a light glowed from his palm that hovered around Nina's arm, healing the wounds. "You know, you should consider yourself lucky."
"Why's that?"
"You managed to get an opportunity get get a placement exam to enter the academy. Usually the required age is at least one hundred years of age. But obviously, you are nowhere near that."
"One hundred years?! Why?" Nina exclaimed.
"Like I said, atmospheric energy differences. Elf and fairy children can master the basics in magic but can't start to cultivate their own abilities till almost 100 years of age because of the difficulties, however, every once in a while, there are exceptions," Kaiser began to explain while Nina just stared at Kaiser, dumbfounded.
Snapping back to reality, Nina then asked curiously, "How do you guys categorize ages here?"
Leading Nina to her classroom, Kaiser roughly broke down the age groups. "Those between the ages of 0-75 are just considered children, 76-150 are teenagers, 151-225 are young adults; 226 up to at least 860 years of age are considered full adult; those who are older than that are considers Elders or Seniors, which ever they prefer. This categorization was established by the third elf king and fourth fairy king because of our slowing age process after the age of 21. Although one may look like a fully-grown adult in the human age, they may still be considered a child in elf/fairy age."
"What about their brain development?" Nina questioned.
"It is the same as humans; the only difference is that our physical aging process is different. That's all there is to it really," said Kaiser as he came to a stop in front of two large chamber doors.
Nina could not help but feel out of place.
After gently knocking on the door the door, a man appeared at the doors. A man who was a taller than her but shorter than Kaiser; a man who was more on the plump, round side with short pointy ears.
"Professor Deyliah," Kaiser bows his head. "I'm sure you have received the news?"
"Ah, yes. That is correct. The human," he said with a particular tone as he quickly glanced at Nina.
"I'll let professor Deyliah take it from here. Come to my study after you're completed with your classes," Kaiser stated.
"Your study? Where?"
