A/N: This is the unedited version of this story. Go look at @shiroisyourhero to see her version. It has a LOT more scenes, and it has correct grammar (I tried my  best). She completely deserves credit for that one and she has the full storyline on hers  (including one season 8 scene).  If you want a full version that makes a bit more sense, just go over there.

Lance ran his hand along the wall as he walked down the hall. The smooth texture was never ending, it covered the majority of the castle. Still, for being 10,600 years old, it was in pretty good shape. That wasn't of his interest though. However hard he tried, Lance couldn't keep Keith out of his mind. It would be hard for anyone to, though. For starters, he accused Keith of liking his girlfriend when Keith was gay. And then, out of the blue, Keith just fucking told him he was in love with him. His rival? Keith was always cold to Lance, never letting the walls he was consistently building down, even for a minute. Except for the "bonding moment", which, according to Lance, didn't happen. So naturally, Lance was freaking out. He needed to talk to someone, he needed to let all his confusion out. But there was nobody in the castle. Allura had gone to talk to the alien species on the planet, and because they were so captivating, she insisted that Lance stay in the castle. Pidge and Hunk were off on a mission, retrieving some sort of resource for a new weapon they were trying to add to Voltron. Apparently Shiro was also gone, Lance hadn't seen him since everyone else departed. That left Coran and Keith in the castle. Let's be honest, Lance was never going to talk to Coran about anything, least of all this. However, talking to Keith seemed even worse, so Lance decided to just wander around, helplessly drowning in his own thoughts. He had planned to do that until Allura returned, although Lance wasn't going to tell her about Keith's confession. So he continued to roam the castles empty halls... that was, until he rounded a corner, and nearly bumped into Keith. Lance felt his face grow extremely warm, and he averted his eyes to the floor. Keith winced, and also looked away, holding one arm, closing himself off from Lance. After a few ticks, Lance glanced at Keith. His eyes widened as they fell to Keith's neck. There were two marks, and Lance could easily tell what they were from. They looked somewhat hidden, covered up by the white highlights on Keith's red jacket. Apparently, Keith wasn't familiar enough with them to know how to shield them effectively. Lance's eyes trailed back to the ground. Now he was faced with another question-well, two actually. How did Keith get these? And... Why did he care?

Keith shuffled past him, brushing his shoulder against Lance's. Lance hadn't moved. His hands remained in his pockets, his eyes glued to the ground.

Then Lance turned around, and stepped towards Keith. "Wait... Keith, hang on, wait up!"

But Keith showed no intention of slowing down, or stopping. He didn't look back, didn't answer, just kept walking towards the direction of the lions. Lance made an effort to follow him.

"Keith! Keith, I'm trying to talk to you!" Lance hurried through the halls, slowly getting closer to Keith. When he was about ten feet away, Lance stopped. Keith walked to the black lion, ignoring Lance and stepping inside. Lance ran after him, and hopped inside just before the mechanical doors closed behind him. Keith was nowhere in sight, so Lance stumbled through the lion, feeling more unfamiliar than he had ever been when inside one of the lions. Lance tripped over a few things, trying to make his way to the cockpit. He caught sight of Keith moving through the lion, and hurried after him.

"Keith, would you slow down for one tick?" Lance picked up his pace, swerving around all the things in his path. Lance tripped over the steps Keith had just walked up and tried to regain his balance after.

"Go away Lance." There was no emotion in Keith's voice. There wasn't sadness, anger, or even the slightly irritated tone that was normally present in Keith's voice. His words seemed almost robotic and broken. And it made Lance feel even worse.

"Seriously?" Lance picked himself up from the stairs, and followed Keith, trying to keep him within eyesight. "Yesterday you said you were in love with me, and now you won't talk to me. You won't even look at me."

"Last night you made it excessively clear that there's nothing else to say."

Lance nearly fell back down the stairs. He caught himself, and stared at Keith's silhouette.

"Keith, I... I'm trying to talk to you about something else, I want to be there for you as a friend... But I'm glad I made it clear that I'm nothing more than that to you, and your nothing more than that to me." Lance reached the top of the stairs, and found his way to the cockpit. Keith's hands gripped his controls, his body tense, he stared straight ahead, unflinching.

"Lance, take a hint, and get out of here."

Lance's heart sank, and he slumped backwards. "Why can't I just talk to you without you being like you always are?!"

Keith turned towards him. "Excuse me?"

"You're always shutting us out! When we try and help you, you shove us back! You keep shutting a door, it's like you're locking us out from your life all the time. When you left us for the Blade of Marmora, when you abandoned the team when we needed you! It's like you don't care at all. You're always off with Shiro, or alone fighting some robot. What's with you and being alone? Can't you just give us a chance to be there for you?"

Keith still didn't move, but Lance could see the hurt in his watering eyes. "I don't need any of you. I have Shiro, he's there for me when I actually need it. Unlike you, you just keep making my life a mess. Me a mess. The only paladin I need is Shiro, so stay out of my life."

"How the hell am I making your life a mess?"

Keith let out a sharp breathe. "Every day when I see you, I'm a mess. Every day I see you and Allura, together, everything breaks. Falls apart. I opened up to you, and everything got worse."

"Keith, I wish you would open up to us more, to me. We need to be able to trust each other."

Keith had no response, he just hung his head, his black bangs falling over his eyes.

Once again, Lance could see the recent marks on Keith's pale skin. He didn't want to know how he received them, but felt the urge to know.

"Hey, Keith?"

"... Yeah?"

"What happened to your neck?"

Almost instinctively, Keith reached up and covered the marks. His eyes were stone cold, and when they stared into Lance's, he felt unsafe. He had overstepped a boundary, and he knew it.

"Nothing, ok? Leave me alone."

"Something clearly happened."
"Mind your own damn business. If I wanted to tell you, you'd know by now."

"But you don't. You never do. You never talk to us, or open up when we need you to. You're closed off to the rest of us, Shiro as the exception. So are you ever going to be honest with us?"

"Lance..."

"No, Keith. We need to know. Are you ever going to trust us, to tell us anything? Or are you just going to live in the shadows of this team, only there when you have nowhere else to be? Only there when the universe depends on you?"

"Wh-what?" Keith got up from his seat, and turned to face Lance.

"When we need you, you're never there. You never stand with us, you only join us when the universe needs you. I get that everyone else can come before us, but we don't come at all. Do we mean anything to you?"

"I-"

"What are we to you?"

"I told you Lance, you're-you're everything. That's why I needed to step back, that's why I stepped back."

Now it was Lance's turn to be confused. He didn't comply. "Huh?"

"Lance, Voltron was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I didn't want to let it all go, I don't... But you were the best thing, so I couldn't stay a paladin."

"I don't understand.."

"Remember when you came to me one night? You told me you should step back for the team, for Allura. It hurt when you said that, I won't lie. But I know you love Voltron, you love being a pilot, traveling the universe, I know that. So I had to step back so you wouldn't."

"Wait, you joined the blade of Marmora... So I could keep being a paladin of Voltron?"

Keith sighed. "Yes."

Silence echoed through the room. Neither of them had anything left to say. So they stood there. Keith leaned back, placing his hand on top of his seat. Lance's eyes dropped to his feet, and buried his hands further in his pockets. They both felt different. Lance finally understood many of the reasons Keith isolated himself, but he didn't agree with them. It was hard for Lance to process, he was unaware Keith was capable of thinking about any of them to the point of giving up something he loved- especially Lance. It was making more sense than ever now, Lance was finally conceiving what he'd wanted to know ever since he had met Keith- but he hated it. He hated what Keith was doing, detaching himself from them, thinking it was reasoning it right. But even more, Lance hated that he had assumed that it was just Keith. Keith being selfish, Keith not thinking about others, or how his actions affected them. Keith being Keith, because that was who he was, he'd never been any different, he didn't know any different. Lance hated himself most for that, he hated how he was so one-sided. He'd never given Keith a chance, never- then he finally perceived it. It wasn't Keith, it never was. It was Lance, he had been shoving Keith away, pushing him into isolation. He'd never accepted him, and never been there for him. And he finally understood that. Even when Keith tried to open up to him, he pushed him away, rejecting him. Keith accepted that, and secluded himself. Lance couldn't blame him for that, it... it wasn't his fault.

"I don't even know what to say."

Keith looked up at Lance, brushing the front part of his Mullet out of his eyes. "I don't expect you to."

"I'm just... kind of really stunned."
"Stunned...?"

"Yeah," Lance said, stepped forward. "How do you keep all this inside of you, without exploding."

Keith laughed. "Well, I kinda have to."

"No you don't." Lance rested his hand on Keith's shoulder. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been against you, always. I should have accepted you more, instead of pushing you away."

"It wasn't you-" Keith shifted uncomfortably.

Lance tilted Keith's chin up, forcing Keith to stare back at him."Keith, I have a question."

Keith looked back at Lance, his face turning a light shade of red. That's... Actually kind of adorable, Lance thought. Then realizing what he just regarded, corrected himself. Nope, I mean kind of funny. He acts all tough, but all I have to do is look at him for him to give in. Not adorable, just funny.

"Keith," Lance whispered, his voice dangerously low. "How the hell can you possibly love me, after everything I've said, everything I've done to you.

Keith's face was now a deep shade of crimson. Smiling, Keith admitted it. "Lance, I love you because you're Lance. Irresistible, funny... selfless, loyal, dependable... You're somehow casual and considerate at the same time. You're everything to me, I wish I knew how to put it into words, but I can't. I'm sorry, but I can't."

***

Lance didn't think, nor did he want to. He knew he'd regret it, but he couldn't help it. He'd heard those same words before coming from Keith, but this time it sparked something different in him.

Lance gripped Keith's shoulders and took another step towards him. Keith's stormy and dark purple eyes were drawing Lance forward, and there was nothing that could stop it. Keith parted his lips to signal he was about to say something, but Lance pressed his lips against Keith's before he had the opportunity to. Lance held on to Keith, tightly, almost afraid to let go. For a few ticks, Keith stood still, tense and confused. But after a few moments, Keith melted into the kiss as well, closing his eyes and returning the embrace to Lance. And Lance, well, he couldn't really believe what he was doing, or that Keith wasn't denying him. Lance knew he should pull away, apologize. After all, he liked Allura, she was his girlfriend... but he didn't want to stop. Sure, Allura was amazing. Beautiful, smart, magical, confident, everything he'd ever wanted in a girl. But Keith was... something else. It felt different when Keith was clasped in his arms, his arms locked around Lance's neck. There was something there, when Keith kissed him, a sort of energy Lance felt spreading throughout him- he wondered if Keith felt it too. Lance pushed Keith against the wall of the black lion, resting one arm around Keith's neck, using the other to keep him against the lion. He felt Keith move his hand up to the back of his head, and run his fingers through Lance's soft brown hair. Lance leaned further against Keith, making the kiss rougher than before. Keith pushed back in retaliation, and pulled Lance closer. Lance slowly pulled away, and so did Keith.

Lance quickly stuffed his hands back in his pockets, and leaned away from Keith.

Keith's mullet had been messed up, so had his posture. His face was burning red, he had to lean on the black lion to keep his balance.

"What was... that for?" Keith whispered, not daring to make eye contact with Lance.

Of course, Lance never gave a straightforward answer. "Damn, Keith," Lance smirked.

This caused Keith's face to turn redder, Keith struggled to say anything. "I-I... "

Lance liked seeing Keith flustered. It was kind of... cute. He looked rather vulnerable, it amused Lance. "You don't have to say anything."

Lance pulled Keith towards him, placing a hand on his shoulder. Once again, Lance leaned into a kiss. But this time, it was more vigorous this time, there was more energy. Keith pressed back against him, wrapping his arms around Lance's waist. And it was what he wanted. He knew it was wrong, he wasn't a player. He liked Allura, he didn't want to cheat on her, but... how could he bear to pull himself away from Keith's affection, his honesty? It was more than Allura had given him, that's for sure. He didn't want to talk bad about her of course, but if he was truthful, it wasn't like she treated him how he did her. He would shower her with love, but at the end of the day, she still told him he wasn't good enough. Obviously, that was only when they were alone. Allura wouldn't dare wreck her image as a perfect leader who's never done anything wrong. Whereas Keith... Well, he ruined his image for others, and kept it a secret. Keith's eyes were the thing to bring Lance back from his thoughts, they were open and looking into Lance's. Again, Keith's eyes had completely captivated Lance, making it impossible for him to remain dominant. However, that was something Lance was good at. He removed his lips from Keith's, placing them on the other side of his neck- Lance didn't feel comfortable knowing that someone else had done that to Keith. Lance had to remind himself that one- he rejected Keith. And two- Keith wasn't his, although he felt the urge to claim him so nobody else would. "Mmn..." Lance heard a muffled sound from Keith. Lance pulled away again, after making sure Keith had some fairly distinct and noticeable love marks. Keith's face was less red, but everytime Lance smirked at him, he would start to blush profusely. Lance tilted Keith's chin upwards.

"You know you're adorable?" Lance said, tugging at Keith's thin black shirt. Keith pressed up against Lance, resting his head on his chest

"Hey Keith," Lance looked down at him. His dark hair fell perfectly in front of his eyes... damn, those eyes. "If we're gonna do something- here's not the best place." Lance winked, and Keith's face turned redder than before. "You... want... to?" Keith was practically timid, it was funny seeing him like this. Well, well, well. Keith Kogane, actually flustered, actually embarrassed and- in love? There's something Lance never would have believed. "Well, Keith. So far, I've kissed you, pushed you against a wall, and left you some reminders on your neck." Keith reached upwards, and upon seeing them, let his hand fall back down to Lance's shoulder. "Yes, Keith. Where'd you like to go?"

***

The darkness was a natural part of Keith's life. It was basically his escape from the war, although that doesn't make any sense. Everytime he closed his eyes, he felt himself drift away from the others. He didn't want to, but someone has to take the blame. Everyone depends on Shiro too much for him to, Pidge is too naive, Hunk is too nice, Allura is too selfish to, and Lance... Well, Keith could never let him do that. So it was up to Keith. And he was fine with it, he was used to it by now. Nobody really knew why he chose to pull himself away from them, the other paladins just believed that he was the loner. That he wanted that. It didn't matter, he knew the truth. After some time, it wasn't a problem that everyone viewed him the way they did. They were wrong of course, he didn't want to always be alone- Shiro was the only one who knew that. But now he didn't care. It wasn't like it hurt him anymore, but he didn't enjoy being the "lone wolf". It was just kind of numb now. But now, he had to open his eyes, and step into the light. He washed away the thoughts he drowned in, and opened his eyes. It wasn't light out, but Keith could still see. There was sunlight coming from the window across the room, making Keith shift around to the other side of the bed. There's never sunlight there. Hold up, there's never sunlight there. His window wasn't on that side of the room, it never had been. Keith sat up, and looked around. It wasn't his room, and the bed wasn't his. Keith slowly looked down. Lance was partly lying on top of him... only his boxers on. Keith felt his face go warm, and he slowly pushed Lance off of him. Wh-what the fuck did I do? And the memories came flooding back to him, hitting him in the head like a brick. What the hell was he thinking? Lance kissing him- and him kissing Lance. And then... doing some other things he wasn't very comfortable remembering. Keith glanced over his shoulder, sitting up a bit more, trying not to wake up Lance. Keith caught himself in a nearby reflection. Of course Lance had a mirror next to his bed, he was too cocky not to. Keith stared at himself, a mess from the previous night. His ravn hair was all over the place, so he tried to smooth it back down into a mullet. It didn't work. Then Keith spotted the love marks Lance had left on his neck- but they weren't just on his neck. He found some trailing down his chest, one on his shoulder. Those were going to be hard to hide, especially from Shiro. Shit, Shiro. He couldn't know about this. Keith told Shiro he liked him, not Lance. He hooked up with Shiro, telling him it wasn't because of Lance. Now he felt worse, he lied and... now he's done it with Lance as well, within two days of each other. What the fuck Keith? What the actual... Keith's explicit thinking was interrupted by Lance nuzzling into his stomach, making a faint but cute "mnf" sound. Why didn't Keith push him away? He'd done it for the last few years successfully, and if he had yesterday, they wouldn't be in this situation. Keith decided to try and get up without waking up Lance. It was difficult since Lane's arms were wrapped around him, but he managed to get out of his grasp enough so that he was still sitting on the bed, but no longer making physical contact with Lance. He was preparing to go to his own room when Keith realized, he was in his boxers as well. He scanned the room for his clothes, but couldn't see them anywhere. Everyone was bound to be back by now, he couldn't just walk out practically naked. Keith's gaze somehow fell back onto Lance. He was sleeping so peacefully, a sort of smile on his pursed lips. His brown hair was still the same as it had been the day before, much unlike Keith's. Keith turned around to hoist himself off the bed in search of his clothes, when he was jerked back suddenly onto the soft bed. His heart nearly stopped when he say Lance staring at him, having pinned Keith back down to the bed. God, he's gonna hate me so much for last night. Keith winced at the thought of Lance rejecting him once again, he knew it would be worse than before.

"Keith," Lance said taking a breathe.

"Y-yeah..." Keith tried to avert his eyes, but Lance firmly gripped his chin, forcing Keith to stare back into his bright blue eyes.

"I know it's gonna be kind of weird from now on, but..." Lance pulled Keith down to him, smashing their lips together. While he was surprised, he kissed back, giving himself into the intense kiss. Keith could feel the electricity playing back and forth between them, even after Lance pulled away.

"I don't regret anything." Lance smiled warmly, and let go of Keith.

Keith was having quite a bit of trouble processing this. Does Lance actually have feelings for him? Did he lie before? Did Lance want Keith too? Regardless, Lance's words kept replaying in his head. I don't regret anything. Lance had only said four words, and barely had the energy to, but they were enough to captivate Keith completely.

Keith nodded. "Me neither."

Keith watched Lance's chest rise and fall as the corners of Lance's mouth tilted upwards. Keith decided to let him rest, Lance looked exhausted. Keith pushed himself off the bed, letting his feet slide to the cold floor. As Keith stood up, he heard Lance mumble something.

"You need clothes."

Keith smiled in what little light the small window provided them as he turned back to Lance.

"What'd you do with them?"

"Wouldn't you like to know, mullet?" Even sitting in his bed basically naked in front of Keith, it was Lance's nature to flirt. Heck, he would probably flirt with anything that could walk.

"Seriously, Lance." Keith's voice was low, but he couldn't help smirking to himself. "Where are my clothes.?"

"I burned them."

"Lance!" Keith laughed, and so did Lance.

"You looked better with them off." Keith stopped smiling, embarrassed. "Lance, where'd you put them?"

"Check the bathroom."

Keith looked back at Lance before he slipped off the bed and trudged across the cold floor to the bathroom. He gripped the handle, and shuddered at the cold handle. How was everything in Lance's room freezing except for his bed? Keith pushed the door open gently, and slipped inside. Keith examined the room for his clothing, and spotted them lying on the tiled floor. He reached down, and picked up his pants. He quickly put them on, not wanting to be underdressed in Lance's room any longer. Keith grabbed his shirt from the floor, and stood up. He glanced in the mirror, once again seeing the love marks that Lance had so generously left him. More than Shiro had left him for sure- shit, Shiro. He was gonna see these for sure. Stupid Lance. Stupid Keith, actually. He hooked up with Lance, directly after Shiro, and Shiro probably still thinks Keith loves him, even though it was a lie. He had to talk to Shiro. Keith pulled his shirt over his head, and exited the bathroom. He put his shoes on, and started towards the bed Lance was on. By now, Lance was sitting up on the bed, looking at Keith.

"So what now?" Lance tilted his head.

"Huh?"

Lance looked down, sighing. "Do you want to just pretend this didn't happen? I don't, but I'm dating Allura, and it's not like we can tell the others, we-"

"Let's... talk later."

Lance leaned back against his pillows. "Alright..."

Keith give Lance a slight smile before he turned and left.

***

Keith's head felt like it was going to explode with questions, decisions, and regret. Unfortunately, Keith didn't know the answer to any of these problems, he didn't know what he was going to do, and he didn't know what he regretted. Did he regret the night with Shiro? Hooking up with Lance? Loving Lance? Admitting his feelings for him? Or did he regret all of it? Keith didn't know, and he was trying to focus on what to tell Shiro. What could he tell Shiro? How differently would he think of Keith after he told him? But even though he was dreading it, Keith wasn't one to be dishonest, unless it was for the benefit of others. So he had to tell Shiro the truth. Keith stopped and turned to face Shiro's door, nervous about what may happen on the other side. Just how much is he going to hate me? Was the initial thought replaying in Keith's head. The door opened, and Keith stepped inside. Shirt was sitting on his bed, reading. When he heard the door open, he looked up to where Keith was. "Keith, hey!" Shiro grinned at Keith, and got off the bed to go meet him.

"H-hey Shiro... Can we-"

Keith didn't get to finish before Shiro gently kissed him, resting a hand on his neck. Shiro pulled away, smiling. "Hey. Never actually got to tell you the other night..." Shiro looked down at Keith giving him a weak smile. "I love you too."

Well, fuck. This was so much worse than Shiro rejecting him, getting mad and hating him. Now he was officially in love with him, and Keith had no idea how he was going to tell him about Lance, and end it between them. "Shiro, I-"

"Shh." Shiro interrupted him, and leaned back down to Keith.

Keith was about to pull away, when Shiro started to trail down to his neck. He pushed Keith back against a wall, and for some reason, Keith kissed back. What the hell am I doing. That was the thought that kept revolving around Keith's head. He came here to end things with Shiro, and now he was making out with him. But Keith wasn't objecting, he was very willing to let Shiro love him. Except that he didn't want to play him. Shiro started to lift up Keith shirt, and stopped. Fuck. He sees them... Why the hell did Lance leave so many? But Shiro continued to take Keith's shirt off, apparently he hadn't seen them. Shiro pressed up against Keith, gently pulling him closer. Keith kept wanting to pull away and tell him, but... he didn't know how. He wasn't complaining, it was no secret that he was deeply attracted to Shiro, but he loved Lance, and lying to Shiro was something he never meant to do. Shiro eventually pulled away. He'd left a mark on his neck, but only one. Shiro handed Keith his shirt. "Meet here tonight." He said. Keith nodded and left.

***

Keith couldn't do it. Everytime he meant to tell Shiro, he ended up getting nervous, and didn't. He didn't want to lie to Shiro, go behind his back, and- cheat on him? Did he cheat on him? They weren't really a thing, but Shiro seems to think they were. He thinks they are. But he'd already told Lance he loved him, so was that a former commitment that he went behind with Shiro? No, Lance rejected him, so, was this Lance's fault? No, Keith didn't push him away- should he have? Definitely not, he loved Lance, but... was it right? He was going behind both of their backs, he didn't deserve either of them. Ugh, this was the very reason he kept himself away in the first place, he couldn't bear to make these decisions. Keith stepped into his room, and saw Lance on the other side. He was leaning against the wall, hands in his pockets, with a soft smile on his face. "I was wondering when you'd show up."

"You were waiting here? For how long?"

Lance shrugged. "Doesn't really matter, you're here now."

Lance pushed himself off the wall and walked to where Keith was standing. "Can we talk now, Keith?"

Keith was really expecting them to talk in a few days. Actually, he wasn't expecting them to talk at all, knowing Lance. "Okay."

Keith shifted to his right side, looking expectedly at Lance.

Lance let out a frustrated sigh. "Okay Keith, here it is: I like Allura, I have for awhile, but last night... when you opened up, I guess I kind of opened up to, or I tried to. I've never really felt anything towards another guy, but- I guess last night makes that statement untrue." Lance winked. "And I really-like, really like you Keith, I guess I just never realized it before. Keith, I know last night I probably shouldn't have, I'm dating Allura." Keith's heart sank at these words. "But, damnit, I don't want to just pretend like nothing happened, something happened, it was huge, and I don't want it to end. So please, give me a chance to make it worth it."

Keith was stunned. Lance wanted to continue? But, he had Allura? "Lance, what about Allura?"

Lance hung his head. "I-I don't know. She's great, but I've never felt even a tiny spark of what I felt for you last night for her."

Keith rested his hand on Lance's shoulder. "But you can't just-"

"I know, I'm... I'm still deciding what to do. I only just started to feel something for you, it's more than it is for her, but I've always been interested in her."

"So... what do you wanna do? Only meet up in secret?"

"Well, we can obviously hang out more than normal with the others, but I guess, for other stuff, we have to be really..."

"Careful. And only meet up, when there's definitely nobody around who could see us." Keith was fine with this, he still had to break things off with Shiro.

"Yeah. Hey Keith?"

"Yeah?"

"Is there anyone around who can see us now?" Lance smirked.

Keith laughed. "Nope. We're good." He pulled Lance into a soft and short kiss, but of course with Lance, when is a kiss ever going to be short? Lance gripped the fabric of Keith's shirt, twirling it in between his fingers. Keith lay his hand on Lance's face, and ran the other through Lance's hair. Lance pushed Keith against the bed, and kissed down to his shoulder, tugging at his shirt. Keith let him remove it, and as soon as he did, pulled Lance down to him. They could each feel the energy running throughout them as their kisses became more intense. Yes. Yes, I do love Lance. Keith couldn't object, he loved Lance, despite everything happening around them, despite their past relationship, he was completely in love with him.

***

It had been a little over a week since their first night together. Keith was trying to think about how to break things off with Shiro completely. However, Shiro and Keith were still sort of interested in each other. Shiro was definitely interested, Keith had met up with him quite a few times, 5 actually. Each time they did, things got extremely... heated. Throughout this, Keith was constantly hanging out with Lance, and everytime Keith felt himself falling farther in love with him. But Keith was still facing a problem. He was hooking up with each of them, almost one after the other, multiple times. He decided he was going to break things off with Shiro, and try to be with Lance, but there was still an issue- Allura. Lance had been crushing on her forever, and when he finally had her, he was also crushing on Keith. So, Keith had been pressuring Lance to break up with Allura, and finally, Lance decided what he wanted to do.

***

"Lance," Keith was leaning back on Lance, tired and frustrated. "Just... it wouldn't be that hard for you to break up with her, you told me you don't like her that much, and it doesn't sound like you really love her-"

"Keith, I don't love Allura, you know that." Lance stared across the room, into nothingness. "But I don't really know if it's the right thing."

Keith sighed. "I know, I'm sorry. It's hard though. I like you, you know that, it's tough to just wait around, watching you with her. We pretend it's normal between us, but we know it's not. I'm not handling it well, you know that, but I guess it's 'cause I love you."

"I love you too Keith..."

"Then why are you still with her?" Keith turned around to Lance, and pressed his forehead against Lance's chest.

"I... don't know." Lance sighed, and wrapped his arms around Keith. "I need to head to breakfast Keith. You coming?"

"I'll be there in a bit. It's too early for me." It was only 6:00 in the morning, but Keith was usually up by 5:30. Lance just nodded, and shifted Keith's body off of his. He set Keith on the pillow, and stood up.

"Alright. See you soon, mullet." Lance grinned.

Keith smiled from across the room. "Seeya."

The robotic door closed behind Lance, and he walked down the hallway. Keith's room was the farthest from anywhere else in the castle, so it took Lance a few minutes to get past the rest of the rooms. When he reached the end of the hall, and saw Allura step out of her dorm. She caught Lance out of the corner of her eye, and stopped, dead in her tracks. Her arms were folded, and if looks could kill, Lance would be dead right about now.

Lance smiled nervously. "Hey Allur-"

"Don't 'Hey Allura' me! What the hell happened yesterday?!"

Crap. The day before, Lance had made a technical error and lost control of the red lion.

"I just lost focus for a second Allura, don't worry."

"You're always losing focus! Are you ever going to get your act together, or will you always be a screw up?" Yep. This was Allura when no one was around. Lance didn't understand why she was like this, or why he just stood there, accepting defeat.

"Allura, you're supposed to be my girlfriend." Lance crossed his arms.

"And..?"

Lance was fuming. "And, we're supposed to be there for each other! I like you, I'm always there for you! You say you like me, but you're always putting me down. Sometimes I just feel like a rebound for you."

"A... Rebound?"

"Because of Lotor."

"Well, you're better a rebound than a reliable paladin."

Lance felt like he'd been shot through a wormhole. He walked past Allura, tears forming in his eyes.

"Don't you dare walk away from me. I'm your girlfriend."

I can't believe I ever liked her.

"We're done Allura."

"E-excuse me?"

"Go find a new rebound, I'm breaking up with you. Allura."

***

I'm not an idiot.

Of course I noticed.

I saw his neck, I know I didn't put those there.

But how the hell can I be mad at him and in love with him at the same time?

I'm not willing to ruin what I've barely got with him. It's not worth it.

It causes me pain to see it, but I can't confront him. It would be the last time I'd ever get to.

He leaves me broken everytime I think about it, when I think about who could have done that to Keith's neck?

I guess I'm not the only idiot in love.
