I looked around our kitchen and hurriedly ate my waffles. Trying to get ready for school. I walked into my room and took out a bag. The bag had a Small image of a red bird. It kinda looks like an eagle! I loosened the faux leather strings and opened up the bag's flap to the inside. I though about what to put in it but my mind was blank.

My mom stepped into the room and smirked. It wasn't a smirk saying she was amused that's just her normal smile. She opened her mouth "your supplies are at school I did everything for you the other night. Everything has been set up." I smiled gratefully. I scrambled up and hugged her. "Thank you mom" I whispered, eyes closed and Happy.

She rubbed my back and released me. She walked into her room and shut the door. Probably to change out of her PJs & pink and purple polka dot robe. I sat on my bed and thought for a while. I eventually thought I smelled pancakes and chocolate chips. Wait- I did smell them!

I ran down the stairs and got some pancakes from the stack my mom was making. My mom looked uneasy. Like she was nervous more than I was. I smiled at her as she handed me the syrup. She had a misty look in her eyes, like she was going to cry.

I wanted to console her but I wasn't sure how to. I've never seen my mom cry. I went up to her. She was inches taller than me. I Hugged her and heard he start to cry. I petted her hair. "Shh mom Shh. Its okay. I'm gonna be fine Dont worry about me." She nodded her head. I put chocolate chips on my pancake and let them melt in the

heat.

I took a bite and chills ran up my back. I let the heat of the delicious chocolate chip pancake warm me up. The smell was a lot better than the smell of vinegar. In the Summer that smell would come around a lot.

In the summer I would plant green beans to can and sell at the farmers market. Even though our neighborhood was "bad" it was beautiful in our backyard. We had a tall wooden fence that I would paint when it chipped. It would always be rainbow. I did shades of colors and the first would be red adjusting to orange, then yellow, to green, also blue, and finally a Violet purple. I loved painting it and decided to make the rest of the backyard beautiful too.

The grass was always a vibrant Green. Unless it was snowing. Then it was covered in a gorgeous glittering sheet of White. When the grass was able to be seen there was a garden full of green beans.

I'd can them using vinegar and the nasty sour and intolerable stench would reach my nose. I hated it but I tried frowning other things. The only one I could really manage was green beans. Mom and I would drive to the farmers market (but I'd never get out.) And drop them off. Mom would come back at the end of the day and collect the money while I was Reading or studying.

I went back up stairs. I had 5 minutes till school started and I figured today was a day that I should use this. I had secretly took some of my mom's make-up. She never used this old makeup so I did. I had been practicing with it and she never knew. My little secret.

I took out a little oval shaped object. It looked like the ends had been cut off and they were circularly flat. If that makes sense. It was black and had a pink cap. I untwirled the cap. It said long-lasting and "Mangarific". As if that were a thing. I had watched mom apply this years before as a child. It had a stick/tube coming out and fiber-looking things on the end. With a sticky oozy black substance on the end. I think it was called mascarra.

I put the fibers to the roots, or as close as I could get, and swept to the right on my right eyelashes and left on left, creating the "mangarific" look. Next was the baby lips. It was a little blue tube with light pink letters reading BABY LIPS© on them. I put the lips on and rubbed them together. The tube had "Quenched" written on it under the Brand's name.

I looked at myself in the mirror. I knew I wasn't the prettiest girl in the world. Considering it was only me and my Mom, I definitely felt, and thought, I looked like it. I was ready!! I ambled down the stairs. I went into the kitchen again. I grabbed a Neon Green Double-Wall Tumbler cup with lid and straw for the day. I looked around the kitchen. Our wooden cabinets and drawers were a mix of Ebony, Ivory, and Brown Mahogany. I loved our 'L' shaped kitchen and square next door dinner table. It was small compared to other kitchens but it was spacious with only 2 people living there instead of five like most families.

I went up to my room to grab my backpack. I put my cup in the side of my back pack. Then went into the garage to the car. This is it its the big day!! I was practically bouncing in the front passenger's seat, I was so excited!

Author's Note: Sorry, I know the Green Bean thing was unusual but my Grandma is caning them now so I thought I'd describe the smell and add in it in the story.

And yes I have that "mangarific" mascara at home.
