I love watching the trees go by in a rush of green and other colors. It makes me feel like I'm faster than anything, even the speed of light! Which is physically impossible considering the speed of light is 186,282 miles per second or 299,792 kilometers per second. In miles per hour, light speed is, well, a lot; about 670,616,629 mph. If you could travel the speed of light, you could go around the Earth 7.5 times in a second. But it was fun to dream.

When I got to school I was so excited. I strapped my purple backpack with painted flowers on my back and stood in front of the school. "Wow" I gasped. The building was huge! I waved to my mom and went to the front door. I admired the front doors. They were black with metal handles and glass middles. Kinda like French doors.

I opened the door and walked in. There was a stack of papers. I looked at them. The papers were all the same. They read "school map". I took on and looked for the office. Im guessing I went the right way. If I didn't I probably looked really stupid.

I saw Michael. I ran up to him and hugged him. Actually, it was more like a tackle. I had to throw my hands behind his neck to hug him. He's tall. I asked him "Is this the right way to the office? Please tell me it is." At the last part I clutched the sides of the map, wrinkling the paper.

He smiled, close-mouthed, crookedly. I smile back, Gosh he was cute! My eyes widened. Did I really just think that? We were friends and nothing else, at least that I was aware of. He muffled a laugh I tilted my head and gave him a confused look. "You look funny when your eyes widen." I rolled my eyes. "Shut it" I grumbled.

He looked as if he would double over on his back laughing and pointing at me. And just as I predicted he would, he did. He held his stomach and his eyes squeezed shut. He opened them full of tears too. A couple slid down and then dropped on his shirt. I started to laugh too. I had tears in my eyes but wasn't doubled over. I'm so glad no one saw us. We probably looked like huge idiots right now.

He walked me towards the office. Some other students walked by and gave me a funny look. Probably because they'd never seen me before. A lot of them had been friends since pre-k. Which is why they didn't recognize me. I didn't get around much.

When we got to the principal's office and I got a better map. Michael helped me find the best routes to and from my classes. He's a big help. I'm glad that he's my best friend.

My schedule was pretty complicated. I had to go back and forth a lot. But most of my classes were pretty good. I was looking forward to gym. My first class of the day. Even if I wasn't going to be the best one there.

My teacher said that since I hadn't gone to school since kindergarten I would need to fill out a lot of forms before actually participating.

I was handed about ten sheets. Allergies, emails, phone numbers, asthmatic issues, hospital visits, check ups, and so much more needed to be filled out.

It was a hassle. I picked up the first sheet and started to fill it out. I had so much time to fill this out it wasn't funny. Why hadn't Mom done this herself? Maybe all the kids here had to do this too. They just got to do it over the Summer.

I checked never had a broken bone, all my shots, female, wrote Kasey Mitchell, age 14, filled out my looks (I had to because there were no pictures of me besides at my house), I wondered if mom would print a picture of me so they could put it in my file instead of asking me to describe myself on every piece of paper that needed my photo.

Then I went on to the next paper. I filled out my name and age, street address, home phone, cell phone, moms work numbers, cell phone, name, when it came to the dad's side of the page I started to grow said.

I never knew what happened to my dad just that he had died. I put the paper down and went to the next one, this was going to take forever.

I finally finished the papers. By that time I had to go to cooking. I was going to play the violin soon. I was going to get my schedule changed by tomorrow. Good thing we don't have to move anything around. It'll still be during second hour.

We were going to make cookies. Chocolate chip!! We got our recipes and I put blue dye in mine. She said to make them unique we could dye them. I decided to do that because in Percy Jackson his mom made blue food for Percy. Plus blue was my favorite color.

I waited for the cookies to bake. While I did that I got my book out and started to read. Gosh I love this book. I didn't want it to end.

Someone went behind me and spoke "Tris dies." I ignored the voice. Once my mom had told me that 5 different characters died but they never did. People just want to ruin others' minds sometimes. Which is sick.

I forgave my mom, eventually.
