I am Kasey Mitchell and I am 14 now. My birthday was earlier in the year, March 27th. I have short brown hair and my eye color changes. I have been homeschooled since I was 5. I have no major friends and no boyfriend. Though there is a story to everyone, it just has to be discovered. I am evenly 5 ft tall and I love books. I don't go outside much. I'm not aloud to, my mom says it's a bad neighborhood. She is at work when I study for my 'exams'.

I told my mom that I could take tests everyone else did, even though I was homeschooled. She leaves me in my room most of the time and I lock all the doors and windows so no one comes in. I have only meet one guy my age. In fact he's the only boy I remember meeting. He is coming to my house today at 3:45. He goes to school and he says he would like it better if I were there. I'm not sure if he meant it that way, romantic, or not.

I decide to get dressed. My mom says she might enroll me at school soon. I hope it's the one he goes too. I would make friends easily. I get in jean shorts and a sunset purple tank top. The shorts have frayed bottoms and 4 pockets. They are getting tighter and tighter. My mom hasn't taken me shopping in a while, but I don't complain. She's a nice mom and does what she can. The tank top is baggy so I wear a cami underneath it.

After studying the whole day I look at my watch. Five more minutes!! I put on a blue jacket, can't have him see me in an outfit that's too big. I sit at the table and put headphones in. I love to listen to music. I start reading Allegiant by Veronica Roth. It's the 3rd book in the Divergent Trilogy and I still haven't seen the movie yet. I asked mom once but she probably forgot. Oh well.

Knock knock, I look over at my window and then take my headphones out. He has blonde hair and hazel eyes. I opened up the window and he said "I'm gonna show you something" and took off. I rolled my eyes. He always does this. I jumped out onto the lawn and pushed the window back down. I took off after him going at top speed, because I have to work twice as hard as he does to keep up. I jumped over a fence and through some yards just like him. He's about three inches taller than me and a month older. But I had to know where he was going. Natural curiosity. I was ready to give up when he stopped. Thank God! He was climbing up to the top of a roof.. "Great" I mumbled. I liked to climb trees, but I never actually had climbed or scaled the side of a house before. I grabbed on to the side of the gutter and tried to pull myself up without breaking it. It worked. I swung my legs over the gutter and pulled the middle up too.

I stood up and sat down next to Michael. He looked at me and smiled "Hey there Kasey." He has the most amazing eyes and I could stare into them all day. I look at his hair. It's different from when I last saw it. I like it. Last time I saw it his hair was flat and messy. Now it's flipped up and nicely, what did he call it once, gelled.

We liked each other as friends nothing more, I had no idea. We talked and joked, but I never really know what love would be for me. He told me I was pretty but I don't use a mirror a lot. I just put on whatever I think looks good. Plus I'd have to bend down to see myself, the mirror is shorter than me.

I looked up into his eyes, they were the prettiest eyes I've ever seen. But to be fair I've only seen mine, my moms, and his. I told him how my mom might enroll me in a school. I was so excited. He told me that he would be at the only local high school. Which means that I would be going to the same school as him! I mean, come on, only one high school, I had to be going there.

I checked my old battered watch, it read 5:40. My mom got home around seven. So we went back to my house. I decided to show him something. I jumped off the roof and yelled "RACE YA!" I jumped over multiple fences and jumped over patio and lawn furniture.

He was catching up to me, so I cranked it up to full speed. I went as fast as I could. He was back in the distance. But eventually we were racing next to each other. I jumped over the fence but my foot hit the top of it. I tumbled into the backyard landing in a hep on my back. Michael fell on top of me. This reminded me of the day we met.

I was reading in the yard and I heard I noise probably just some neighbor. Then the noise became clearer. It was a dog barking. Probably just a dog being walked. Then I body ran me over. I lost control of the book and was sprawled out on my right. "Sorry!" He called. I picked up my book and set it down, I had to run so hard my lungs burnt to keep up. I chased after him and tackled him on the ground. Gosh this is the most exercise I've had in awhile! I only got to him because he had stopped for breath! I looked straight at him. "Your paying for that, it was a new book." I wanted to kill him, but I knew that lead to jail time. He tried to wriggle free, but I wouldn't let him. I held him down twice as hard as I was supposed to. I was so angry. He told me he would pay for a new book. And I let him go.

I laughed, and so did he. We went inside and I guided him up the stairs and to the attic. There was everything up here. I kept hidden things here, my Mom had no clue. She never went up here anyways. There was also a window, I climbed out of it onto the roof. I know I said that I never climbed onto a roof, I never said I hadn't been on one.

I loved to sit on the part where the roof touches, sometimes even lay down. I look at the sky. I found a spot where both of us would fit. I sat on the edge, him next to me. We talked and every time he said something I would listen, and he would listen to me. It was great. At 6:45 I watched him jump off and run threw yards. I swung myself in the window, and decided to read some more.

My mom came home later than usual. She said she was sorry. I didn't care, she did this sometimes but always told me in advance. Maybe she just forgot. She was over-run with things to do at work. She had many jobs. Capri Practice was one. She got discounts on shampoo and conditioners. Then there was Aeropostale, "Wally-World", Victoria's Secret, and Macy's. She got discounts there, and they all helped to support us. Wally-World gave us food, Aeropostale gave us clothes, Victoria's Secret gave my Mom her sweatpants and hoodies, and then she's applying for Dick's Sporting Goods and Barnes and Nobles.

I over looked the entire "late" thing. We had some chicken then I changed into my PJs and slept in my warm bed until the morning.
