We returned with numerous looser tops and pants, maternity bras and undies. We missed morning training and I was sent to breakfast. Alberta pulled me aside in combat class to discuss my new workload. Then pulled Mase and Eddie aside to tell them.
I never heard the end of it at lunch from Mase and Eddie.
"Seriously Rose?! Pregnant?! Didn't even know you had time to sleep with anyone!" Mason started.
"Shush. You know how the rumours are around here."
"Rose, whose is it?" Eddie asked softly.
"Whose is what?" Liss asked, joining the group- Christian in tow naturally.
"Now you've done it! Good job guys!"
"Rose? What's going on?"
"She's pregnant!" Mase answered.
"You're what? You can't be. You haven't slept with anyone!"
"Actually Liss. I am. I can be and I have."
"And you didn't tell me?" She was on the verge of tears.
"I couldn't. It's 'couldn't' not 'wouldn't'."
"Oh really? Who are you trying to protect?"
"I can't tell. I want to, believe me but I just can't. Know this however; the dad knows and is happy, he'll help where possible, I love him and he loves me."
"What?!" They exclaimed in unison.
"What do you mean 'what'?"
"You're in love? Who? What? When?" Liss started going hysterical.
"Yes. Can't tell. In love. Since we've been back."
"You and your 'cants'!" Came Liss's exasperated response. She took a deep breath "okay. How far along are you?"
"Two months- have a look at your little neice or nephew" I passed my phone and the ultrasound pic around.
Liss: "OMG!"
Eddie and Mase: "aww."
Christian: "good god !"
"Whatcha looking at?" Sneered an unwelcome voice.
