After that movie session he had with Seon Ho, Guan Lin started hanging around the junior much more than before. He doesn't know why but Seon Ho's presence soothes him at times, as if the junior is a living lullaby that his mother used to sing him to sleep every night.
Someone, however, isn't fond of how the older sticks to Seon Ho more than before.
"Why are you here, again?"
"Hye Rin... there're four chairs at our table anyways, and I don't really like it when either is empty." Seon Ho excused hurriedly as his eyes darted to Guan Lin, taking a small bite of the food then.
Despite her friend's words, the girl continued glaring at the senior who couldn't care less as he sipped on his milk.
"Wow, Hyung, I didn't know you've such a childish taste."
The mentioned boy had his brows arched towards his nose bridge then, eyes pinning on the boy in front of him whose cheeks lifted in mockery.
"Maybe that's why you ain't as tall as me."
"I'm one year younger than you, hyung, and I'm tall enough."
"I like milk too. It is also rich in calcium so it would do good for Guan Lin-hyung's fractured leg... if it even makes sense." Seon Ho defended the older once more, Justin shrugging his shoulders.
The way Seon Ho spoke for Guan Lin again made the girl sigh in frustration.
Hye Rin shove the last bit of her bread down her throat, indignant at how the two boys accepted the senior as if he is normally part of their clique. She felt like the odd one out instead of Guan Lin who only joined their table occasionally. She thought it was just a "guys" thing, that she can't understand them because she is not a male, but the feeling chewing her proved otherwise.
Justin, being overly cautious of her, held her hand then. The blush creeping on both their cheeks only confirmed Seon Ho's assumption from weeks back. The basketball senior didn't have to question to understand as well, the two finishing their food before leaving the scene quickly.
"I know you don't really like Guan Lin-hyung, but he really means no harm or anything. He's just cold, sometimes?"
"... Can we talk about how you just held my hand instead, in front of them?" Hye Rin's voice nearly cracked while she suppressed her bubbling feelings.
Justin merely let out a cheeky smile, grip on the girl's hand tightening as gently as he could. Hye Rin thought her heart leaped out of her chest as she hit his arm with her other hand, face heating up while her cheeks steamed.
"H-Hey... Don't."
"Why not? Seon Ho and Guan Lin-hyung are already aware."
"That's because of how obvious yo—"
"We're dating, there's nothing shameful about that." Justin lulled, thumb rubbing circles on the female's hand, not minding how they have earned several glances that grazed Hye Rin's skin.
She could almost hear how the students one, two years older than them judging with sharp words. Of the insecurity she received involuntarily, she wished Justin would be unaffected and stays certain of their relationship, because she couldn't.
They may have known each other for years, but they are still in their first year of high school. They also have yet to experience the lowest of their relationship that is merely a month old, who knows if their newfound romance will sustain beyond that point?
Furthermore, her boyfriend is bisexual. She knows that one's sexuality doesn't determine their faithfulness, and she trusts Justin deeply, but she is self-aware enough to realise it wasn't enough; She finds herself unable to put her whole trust with the fact that Justin can date both sexes. If he were to chance someone, or more people—since he is granted more possibilities—better-suited for him, would he still stay by her side?
