Recap:

“Chester, stop. I love you. Yes, I’m your girlfriend. Scream it from the roof if you want to,” I told him, laughing at his surprised expression. He started smiling.

“Thank you. I needed the help. I know it was unnecessary, but I just wanted to check with you, since everyone’s coming today.” I gave him a peck on the lips and got up.

“Well I’d better help you get the drinks outside,” I said walking towards the kitchen knowing he’d be following me.

 Chapter 12

An hour and a half later, the party was in full swing! Everyone had come out, from Wong Fu to Jenna Marbles to AJ Rafael to all of Quest to people from my dance studio. Them, and so many more had gotten the memo from our furious tweets about the BBQ/pool party. Lauren still hadn’t shown up and I was getting a little anxious about her arriving.

I looked around Chester’s backyard, and I couldn’t help the smile that spread over my face. Seeing all of our incredible, talented friends sitting around enjoying the LA sun was such an awesome feeling. AJ had picked up a guitar and was singing a beautiful duet with Cathy; Phil had managed to jump in the pool with Dom and some girls I didn’t recognize. Andrew and Ryan were at the grill talking to Kina. There were so many other people scattered around drinking and eating and enjoying the pool that I couldn’t even keep track. I turned around to face the group that I was sitting with: Chester, Kevin, JR, Wes, and Ted. They seemed to be having a fervent discussion about cars.

“Are you okay?” Wes, from next to me, asked. I looked up at him and smiled. Wes was a good guy and I’d known and been good friends with him and the other 2/3rds of Wong Fu since they worked with Ryan.

“Yeah, I’m fine. Just waiting for someone to show up.” He got closer to me and in a hushed tone said, “You look a little worried, you can tell me if anything.” I smiled at him.

“Thanks Wes. I’m fine, I promise.” He smiled and nodded and returned to arguing with Ted about the newest Lamborghini. Chester and I hadn’t really announced our coupling yet, but we decided we’d do it when the party started to die down a bit. I was awoken from my thoughts when I noticed Denisse walking in looking a little self-conscious. I got up to greet her.

“Hey! Glad you could make it,” I said hugging her. Denisse was the first dance instructor we hired at the studio, and she pretty much runs everything in studio. I loved her for it and we became really close friends because of it.

The day went pretty much without a hitch but I had noticed Lauren still hadn’t shown up. It was now about 3 hours into the BBQ and I was in the pool with Dom, Phil and Denisse playing pool volleyball. Denisse and I were winning.

“What c’mon! How does that even count?” Phil yelled at my immediate score after a serve.

“Of course it counts. You’re just mad because you suck!” I yelled back laughing and high fived Dennise. While we were celebrating Chester caught my eye. He motioned his head inside and winked at me.

“I’ll be right back guys,” I said to them getting out of the pool and putting a towel around my body. Phil and Dom were still sore about losing and were yelling for me to come back for a rematch. I walked inside behind Chester until he stopped inside by his white grand piano. I looked around and saw no one was inside at all, and Chester had a perfect smile on his face.
