Three | The Past

"Eun Mi, did you happen to have any drama with past trainees?" Mark asked.

It was the next day, and I had awoken to an empty dorm. The girls had texted me late last night that they had arrived home safely. They all lived in different parts of Korea so they all took different train routes.

I only woke up because my phone was ringing from trainee manager calling me to wake up. I was instructed to meet the guys in their training room.

Mark had approached me when I entered the room full of NCT's eighteen members. The guys had turned their head to see who walked in, but turned away when they saw it was me. The sudden attention made me want to run and hide anywhere that wasn't here.

No one had heard Mark's question because he asked when he was close enough to me.

I shook my head. "No, I didn't. Why?"

I knew why. It was because of Ten yesterday, but I acted like I didn't know the conversation they had.

"Hm? You didn't?" Mark rose an eyebrow before glancing back at the other members. "The older members said something happened when we were trainees, but they didn't tell me."

I shrugged as he basically admitted that they talked about me in their free time. "I didn't fight or argue with the past girl trainees if that's what you're asking." I responded.

It was true. Koeun, Herin, and I didn't have a bad relationship at all. They were all nice and hard working people. It was just known that we specifically preferred to be kept at a distance.

"Then what was it?" Mark asked.

I sighed. "Mark, I don't know. Just ask them. Want me to ask them for you?" I said marching away daringly towards the older members who were standing together discussing something.

"No, wait." Mark said as he followed me. He pulled me back and spun me around to face him.

Our movements subtly caught the attention of other members, who peeked from the corner of their eyes, without actually moving their heads to look.

I yanked my wrist away from Mark. I rose an eyebrow to challenge him. He took it and went up to Ten who looked like he knew what Mark was going to ask.

"What drama were you talking about yesterday? Did it concern me?" Mark asked.

"You're very curious, Mark." Ten said with a small smirk that showed he enjoyed teasing an oblivious Mark. "But I can't tell you.  You have to figure this one of out for yourself."

"It's not that hard if you think back on things. All of us older members saw everything unfold." Yuta said.

I knew what they were talking about vaguely. Koeun and Herin had always been around Mark because of the same age thing going on, but Koeun had a crush on Mark and Herin knew that.
