The fire was the only source of a glow in the small shack. Jordanes felt like he was being noticed by as he slept.

Jordanes turned around to see the eyes piercing into his.

"I am sorry for what I did to you earlier, German." Tóra breathed.

Jordanes arose and sat in his corner.

"I understand. I would have done same." He stoically responded.

She didn't flinch.

"What is your name, German? I am sure your mother did not choose to name you German." Tóra asked.

"Jordanes. What is your name? I am sure that you sallow faces all have names."

A ghost of a smile appeared on her face.

"Tóra Tristansdóttir, German."

The only sound heard was the sound of silence. Tóra looked at Jordanes as if he was a strange looking animal.

"You had family on the ship?" Jordanes asked. Tóra coldly stared at him.

"Yes. But they were captured by your kind. You are animals." She spat at him.

Jordanes marched over to her.

"You are calling me an animal? You sallow faces murdered innocent people!" Jordanes spat at Tóra. Tóra slowly arose, not flinching.

"Did your people even realize that us "sallow faces" had families they cared for? I understand your pain, and I am sure that my people had no intent on murdering your loved ones, but did you ever think about their families, how they would feel?" Jordanes stared at her wide eyed. He did not want to admit that a woman was right, but he knew that there was nothing else that he could use as an excuse in this clash.

Tears began to fall from Tóra's eyes.

"Please, I am sorry. I had no intent on killing any of your men. My people are not the kind who enjoy altercations."

"Your people? What do you mean?"

"We live in tribes. I am from the Manimi. I do remember a vengeful tribe who attacked us the night I was captured." Tóra's eyes widened.

"Who? Do you know who?" she grasped Jordanes.

"No. I do not remember."

Tóra sat down next to Jordanes.

"Thank you for telling me this. I know what I must do."
