Tóra awoke to the sound of a fowl. Her eyes pierced their way into the ash eyes of a fair faced creature.

It waddled towards Tóra, and bowed it's head for her to touch. She had seen these creatures before, but they never revealed their face in the daylight.

Tóra gently brushed her hand over the fowl. She recognized that the creature was no more than a babe.

"I'll shall care for you, kronabarn." She cooed as she waltzed to the tree. She saw the timber where the burrow of the young fowl resided.

Tóra agilely mounted the timber and faced the burrow.

"Kvedja." she breathed against the ivory face of the bird as it waddled back into it's home.

"Are you at one with the coppice, Mädchen?" a voice appeared.

Tóra looked down to face the German.

"I take it you are one as well, German." She called down.

"What makes you say that?" he asked as he grasped her femur. Tóra felt her body shake, but not from chill.

She brushed him off of her as she turned to face him.

"You said you have ventured this way before." She responded.

The German gasped a laugh.

"Collect your weapons, we depart anon."

As he walked away, she heard him mutter in his native tongue, and she knew that he was insulting her.
