"Tóra." A voice appeared. Her eyes turned to face him. Her heart missed it's pulse.

"?" She questioned as his arms unsealed themselves for her.

"Please be safe tonight. The loss of a beauty would be a loss for those who have met her." He said as he rested his temples against hers.

"You shall never lose me. Never underestimate a Skjöldur Mær. It is offensive to us." She breathed.

"I would never dare underestimate you. I know what you are capable of, remember?" he replied.

"I know. I also wish for you to be safe tonight. Your people almost lost you. They can not completely lose you now. I cannot lose you now." She croaked.

"Never. I'll fight with you. Stay with you until it is the end." He held her lovingly.

"What do you believe will become of us? If we survive?"

"I will leave this land, and go with you." Jordanes brushed her face.

"Why? This is your home?"

"I would leave because I love you. I would sacrifice myself for you. I care for my people, but after I was taken to your home, I saw the faces of the men. How they desired to see what worlds were in the distance, how they desired adventure. I began to feel the way they did. I want adventure, and I want you." He kissed her.

"I would do the same for you. But what about your mother, Áki and Ila? Would they want to go with us?"

"Yes. They too tire of their lives here. And Ila could be like you, a Schild Mädchen." Tóra smiled.

"A daunting Shield Maiden she will be." She embraced her lover gently.

"Please tell me, why did you not tell me what truly came from your tongue that night?" he cradled her face.

A silver tear fell from her clear eye.

"I was afraid. A Skjöldur Mær has her vulnerabilities, I am not a Gydia, a Goddess."

"You are to me. You arouse me unlike any other woman. The Gods you believe in, they are real. We are finally together, one, because of them. They sent me to a Göttin. I thank the Gods for this. Do you?"

"Yes. The Gods were not enraged with us that day at sea, they were questioning our actions." She grinned.

He gently brushed his lips against hers.

"Lieberhaber!" a voice appeared.

They turned to face Áki and Ila smirking at them.

"Was?!" he glared.

"Es ist zeit."
